Here is a beautiful example of a 2004 Yamaha XVS 1100 Silverado, the Silverado is the top of the line for the V Star 1100's, I am the second owner and a senior like the original owner, I have meticulously maintained this bike, the following parts have less then 50 miles on them, all six Carbon Kevlar Breake Pads, completely changed out all brake fluid and installed three stainless steel speed bleeders to the calipers, engine oil, filter and O-rings. I removed the smog pump, and it's two related hoses/pipes and installed a Maxair Engineering AIS kit, this cleans up the looks of the engine area, and helps it to run better and cleaner. I ride this bike on a regular basis pending nice weather and it has always run flawlessly. There is a small dent on the left side of the fuel tank where I hit it with my knee (see pic), however this bike as never been down or dropped. Most trips were day trips however on occasion my wife and I road it to Tahoe, Monterey, and up the North coast of California. The bike comes with 2 helmets, passenger seat and back rest, (see Pic) as well as chrome rear fender racks for the single rider. AMA Superbike Racer Larry Pegram To Race On Four Wheels This Weekend
Thu, 08 Aug 2013Foremost Insurance/Pegram Racing SuperBike rider Larry Pegram will be back in racing action this weekend but, instead of being aboard his familiar #72 Yamaha YZF-R1 SuperBike, Larry will be behind the wheel of a PRO Buggy sponsored by RealTree Outdoor Energy Drink. The PRO Buggy class features rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive, purpose-built racing buggies with lots of suspension travel and lots of horsepower. Pegram is no stranger to car racing, having done a few road racing events last year, but he’s excited about the opportunity to kick up some mud this weekend at RedBud MX in Buchanan, MI, as part of The Off-Road Championship (TORC) series.
Yamaha Reports Q2 2013 Sales Results
Tue, 06 Aug 2013Yamaha bounced back from a poor first quarter with sales of 1.530 million motorcycles over the second quarter ended June 30, 2013. The results represent a 1.5% increase from the 1.507 million motorcycles sold in the same quarter last year. Still, Yamaha’s first half motorcycle sales total of 3.0 million units remains behind last year’s tally of 3.1 million units because of the weak first quarter sales.
Filling a void with an RD350LC
Mon, 29 Jul 2013Last winter I managed to fill a void in my life when I stumbled on a very reasonably priced Yamaha RD350LC. It was a tad scruffy, had the wrong exhausts but most importantly it was blue and white with all numbers matching. I had the usual euphoria when the deal was done but I underestimated how much pleasure this particular purchase would continue to deliver another eight months down the line. The difference with this old bike is, instead of just taking it for the occasional ride I was talked into doing a full nut and bolt restoration. Having never taking a bike apart completely before, initially it was quite daunting but I soon found the RD is easy to work on so it turned into a truly satisfying experience. I’ve had some help from LC enthusiasts with the rebuild, however, the stripping, sourcing and organising was a total labour of love. And call me sad but it has made me bond with this bike like no other which only adds to the feel good factor. The bike cost £1800 and I’ve spent around £1000 but I reckon my mint Elsie is now worth a fair bit more. I fancy rejuvenating a Fizzy next time but there’s lots of other cheap 70’s and 80’s winter projects out there so why not have a go yourself?

Mon, 29 Jul 2013The Musashi HARC-Pro Honda team of Leon Haslam, Michael van der Mark and Takumi Takahashi captured the 2013 Suzuka 8 Hours race. The Musashi team was joined on the podium by the Yoshimura Suzuki team of Takuya Tsuda, Nobuatsu Aoki and Josh Brookes and the Kagayama Suzuki team of Yukio Kagayama, Noriyuki Haga and Kevin Schwantz. The Musashi team completed 214 laps to win the endurance race.
New MotoGP Rules for ECU and Factory Status for 2014
Fri, 26 Jul 2013The Grand Prix Commission released new rules for the 2014 MotoGP season regarding the standard electronic control unit and what constitutes “factory status” for manufacturers. Starting in 2014, the official MotoGP ECU including internal datalogger from Magneti Marelli will become mandatory. Factory teams will be allowed to program their own ECU software while privateers will be required to run the standard software.
Rumor Mill: Yamaha To Make R400 and R650

If true, this would fill a huge void in the manufacturer’s beginner sportbike bike lineup. It would make sense, considering the success of Suzuki’s SV650 (which later morphed into the Gladius and is now the SFV650), Kawasaki’s Ninja 650 (ER-6 in other markets), and even Honda’s CBR500R.

2013 LA Calendar Motorcycle Show Report
Mon, 22 Jul 2013The 22nd edition of the annual LA Calendar Motorcycle Show marked its return to the Queen Mary Seawalk Village in Long Beach, California with hometown boy Sam Baldi taking the Bike Building Championship’s Best of Show trophy with a Jimmy Todorovith/Profile Cycles built Big Twin custom named “Lost Angel.” This year’s Calendar Show showcased not only top builders but selected vendors and exhibitors, and of course the Calendar Girl Music live performances. And as always, this year’s show celebrated the world premiere of the 2014 FastDates.com Motorcycle PinUp Calendars, featuring the world’s top SBK World Superbikes, sport and cafe bikes, and custom motorcycles with the beautiful Calendar Kittens. On hand throughout the day to meet with fans and pose for pictures were Calendar Kittens Apple Price, together with official SBK World Superbike grid girls Jessica Harbour and singer/songwriter Sarah Horvath.
