Yamaha V Star description

44 crystal ave Derry Cycle is selling a 2009 Yamaha V-Star 950 (Model # XVS95YR) in red with only 2,081mis on the odometer. The Star 950 is a very newly designed model for Yamaha and it uses the extremely smooth and powerful new 950cc engine with the "Pent Roof" combustion chamber. These motors are absolutely fantastic and literally blow away any of the other 750-800-900cc bikes from the other Japanese manufacturers, and the 883-XXXX motors in the Harley Sportsters. I can't say enough good things about this engine. Additionally the Star 950 has very clean modern styling and a low slung and long design that makes the bike equally at home on the back roads or crusing the highway for hours on end. Next to the Bolt, which uses the same engine, this bike is the best Yamaha cruiser they've introduced for years. Look it up on-line, they get nothing but great reviews, and have won their fair share of awards. This particular 1 is an excellent example of what a good clean pre-owned bike should be. She was sold brand new here at the dealership to a gentleman in his 40's who took excellent care of her. She was also serviced here when required for it's break in service, and 1 factory recall. The mileage is extremely low for a 4 year old bike, and both the cosmetics and mechanical components are in like new condition. If you're thinking about dropping $8,000-$10,000 on a brand new one, you should definitely make some time to check this 1 out 1st, you'll be plenty glad you did! The service department has gone through every major and minor system on the bike as required by their 153 point comprehensive inspection process, and she passed with flying colors. We work with nine different credit unions to offer financing, and we are accepting trade ins toward the purchase of this bike. Please email or call Ken @ with any questions you have. We also purchase Harleys, Sportbikes, and ATV's for CA$H.www.derrycycle.com to see more photos of this bike, and look at all of our bikesThank you

Pikes Peak 87th Annual International Hill Climb [pics and video]

Fri, 15 May 2009

Named after a man by the name of Zebulon Pike, an explorer who led an expedition to the area in 1806, Pikes Peak is home to the second oldest motorsports race in America second only to the Indianapolis 500. First completed in 1916, this year marks the 87th running of the “Race to the Clouds.” If the math doesn’t add up, this is because there were several years that the event did not run over the course of its 93 year history. The 12.4 mile trek up the mountain consists of 156 treacherous turns to an elevation of 14,110 feet.
