For sale is my 2008 V Star 1300, with No Reserve. I bought this bike new in 2008 and ended up laying it down in August of 2009. Due to the accident I replaced the handlebars, gas tank, front fender, headlight, front turn signal, and front mirror. The only other things I changed on the bike are the smoke colored turn signal lenses, added floorboard extenders (because I am tall), and drilled out the exhaust baffle. After fixing the bike I rarely rode it and it sat in the garage most of the time. The last time I started it was about a year ago. I'm not sure what all will need to be done to get it on the road but I'm assuming a good cleaning, replacing all fluids and a tune up at least. The tires and belt are original and have never been replaced. There is some scratches on the right side of the gas tank and some chips on the brackets the mirrors mount to. Overall the bike is in good shape. It has only 2454 miles and would be a good winter project for someone. Bike is sold AS IS/WHERE IS with No Reserve. I have a clear title in hand, winning bid takes it. The bike is in West Columbia, SC (29169). $300 deposit must be made by the highest bidder within 24 hours of the auction ending. Recall for 2009-2011 Yamaha V-Max
Fri, 30 Sep 2011Yamaha is issuing a recall campaign on certain 2009-2011 V-Max power cruisers due to a potential risk of oil pump malfunction. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, abnormally high oil pressure can build up within the oil pump of certain Yamaha V-Max models. The high pressure may force the washer on the oil pump shaft against the oil pump housing, causing oil to stop pumping through the engine.

Fri, 24 Jun 2011This ‘you tube’ gem sent to me recently brought back some funny memories from the scary but incredibly exciting days of 500cc two stroke racing. This particular race was the final round of the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba Circuit where I enjoyed a head to head battle with national hero Tadahiko Taira. Yamaha’s favourite son at the time, ‘tie wrap’ as we liked to call him, was taller and better looking than most Japanese riders (maybe a war baby?) and went on to win nearly everything in Japan during his career.
