Yamaha V Max description

Great rider, starts quickly, idles right, accelerates VERY FAST, shifts smooth, stops quick, and it simply runs like a well-maintained V MAX should run when maintained and owned by a Certified Yamaha Tech, all service kept up to date. Very powerful bike.

Always garage kept. It needs nothing to be road worthy for any short or long trip. Ride it anywhere.

Custom Mad Max theme look. Got to see to really appreciate, gets looks from everyone everywhere I rode it. Was displayed in the Mad Max premiere opening in Point Orlando Theater.

Tires are in great shape. No leaks. No smoke. All of the lights and gauges work properly. You can get 30+ MPG when riding normal. Fuel light comes on when low, so you can go another 30-40 miles when you flip the thumb switch to reserve.

Special Notes:

  • Soon to be a "Classic" custom body (Blue Plates Matter)
  • Perfect running condition
  • All service up to date by certified Yamaha tech
  • Modified stock exhaust
  • Jetted carbs
  • 8 hours Dyno tuned
  • Very very fast, very loud.

This bike is sold as is. No warranties of any kind. No joy rides. I have a clear title. If you win the bid, please do NOT pay through PayPal; they charge a fee for the seller. The total payment must be paid in full with CASH before you ride it. If you don't have the cash, then please don't bid on it. Thank you.

LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. I will not ship it.

New owner will be responsible for inspection and registration.

This bike is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this listing at any time if it's sold.

The short but sweet life of the Yamaha R7

Tue, 17 Jan 2012

I was reunited with an old friend recently, my 1999 Virgin Yamaha R7 Superbike. By the end of 1998 I had won three straight BSB titles with the Yamaha YZF750, when main sponsor Cadbury’s pulled out leaving zero funds for a title defence. Wanting desperately to ride the new R7 and thinking a replacement backer would instantly get on board I turned down quite a few offers including a juicy contract from Crescent Suzuki (Paul Denning always enjoys reminding me).

What Would Colin Edwards Do?

Wed, 25 May 2011

As fast as Colin Edwards is on the track, the Texas Tornado may be even quicker behind a microphone. We saw some of that last year in the Yamaha-produced “Man-Cation” video with Edwards and his then-Tech 3 teammate Ben Spies, and Edwards can always be relied upon for a good quote at press conferences. The producers of MotoGP’s official video podcast “After the Flag” have taken notice of CEIII’s wit.

Geeky snippets ahead of the Phillip Island MotoGP

Tue, 13 Oct 2009

Valentino Rossi has finished on the podium eleven times in his twelve visits to Phillip Island across all three GP classes. The only race at Phillip Island that he did not finish in the top three was on his first visit riding a 125cc machine in 1997 when he finished sixth. In 1998 and 1999 he won the 250cc races and since then has had nine podiums in the premier-class including five victories, the last of which was in 2005.
