Yamaha V Max description

1988 Yamaha V Max. I recently bought this bike and started doing some of the work needed. The bike had been sitting for some time. The original air box is gone and was replaced with separate pods. It has Supertrapp exhaust. And the carbs probably need to be adjusted better than I am capable of doing. I just put a brand new battery in it and the bike fires right up (sound awesome) idles fine. The throttle response is not real good until the rpms come up then it responses just fine. The engine sounds great. No oil leaks. No funny sounds what so ever. I just put new spark plugs in. New battery. The front and rear tires are brand new. The shaft drive is new. But now the clutch is out. I was told by a shop that they think the master cylinder needs to be rebuilt because there is no pressure in the clutch lever. I have a rebuilt kit I bought that I will throw in. The bike just needs somebody to spend some time on it. And I honestly believe it could be a great bike. The wheels aren't in the greatest shape. But that's just my opinion. Please look at the pictures carefully and then ask any questions you might have. There are back fees on the bike for Ca. residents of approx. $700. But I am sure those can be reduced seeing how the bike has not been registered since 2004. Your more than happy to come check the bike out. Like I said the engine sounds great! All the electrical works. The bike has a clean title. And I have the original key. A $500 non refundable deposit will need to paid by the winning bidder within 48 hours of the auction ending. The remaining amount will need to be paid within 5 days. You can pay the balance with cash in person at the time of pick up. Shipping is the winning bidders responsibility. But I will be more than happy to assist in any way I can. This bike is being sold as is with no warranty. Like I said I will be more than happy to answer any questions. This bike has a lot of potential. And my starting price is very low. Thanks 4 looking and good luck if your bidding

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

The latest product Yamaha Motor Europe’s Yard Built custom specials is a Star Bolt transformed into a replica of an FZ750. Dubbed the XV950 Pure Sports after the words written on the original FZ750′s fairing, the project was produced by Italy’s LowRide magazine and Radikal Chopper and styling by Oberdan Bezzi. The Star Bolt – known in Europe as the XV950 – is nearly unrecognizable in this new guise, except for its 942cc V-Twin engine.
