Yamaha TT description

2003 Yamaha TTR225

Four-stroke offroad bike; electric start; lots of new work.

I have legal title to sell it; I have the certificate of title that I haven't bothered to transfer over yet. IF you want that, it will ADD (call it a paperwork charge or "doc" fee like the car & truck sellers here all GOUGE on) whatever the IL SOS charges me to transfer it.  I don't need one cause it's used on private property; if you need one, then you'll be expected to advance those fees.

Looks like new except for some cracked plastics; If that really concerns you, every month or so a complete set of TTR225 plastics shows up on eBay.  I've never seen a set sell for MORE THAN $100. So, if that bugs ya, plan on spending another $30 to $100 to replace the plastics.

For those of you who are not familiar with the TTR line, it's what I'd call a non-competitive dirt bike or trail bike. It has electric start so it has the added weight of a starter and battery and works, but no kick start. And it's still light-weight and easily maneuvered.

It's blue and white, of course.

New battery, carb clean, oil change and tuneup.  Here's work that was done and I haven't ridden it since:

Replace piston rings / hone cylinder $150.00
Clean carb / air box $60.00
Cut valve seats / install new valves & seals $50.00
Install engine $185.00
Intake valve $15.00
Exhaust valve $30.00
Valve seals $10.00

Will sell for $1600 or ?????????? I'm just selling it to buy more guns and ammo.  I would - if eBay allowed it - but eBay don't, so I won't - offer to trade it for guns or ammo............. if I could.............but I can't..............so I won't....................  But just know this, that if you had the guns and/or ammo that I'm looking for, I could let you hand me the dough, and then I could just hand it right back to you for your guns.  That'd be kinda like trading, but ebay don't like trading, so they don't allow you to pay me in the currency I'd prefer (guns and/or ammo). And instead of profiting from both sides of a barter transaction, they're standing on some ill-conceived, wrong-headed moral high horse.  Of course, you can buy all the components right here on eBay with which to assemble any gun.  Ya got barrels, and receiver parts, and tubes, and ........ well, let's just say I cannot understand eBay's compunction against allowing gun sales - but, there's everything ya need to put together y'er own gun, right there on ol' eBay!  HYPOCRISY is what we call it here in the heartland.

Looking for the following GUNS and ammo presently. ............ just if you happened to know anyone who might have any for sale (not to trade, cause I couldn't mention my inclination or willingness to trade in an ebay ad, if I were so inclined!  Wink, wink, nudge, nudge!!! )...........

AR15's, 5.56/.223, or .308 or 7.62x39mm;
Walther PPK or PPK/S, even .22;
Colt 1911.

Those are on my immediate "to buy" (or to trade for, which I can't even mention on eBay, but if you were to see my TTR225 advertised on, say, CHAMBANAs Craigslist, you'd see that I invite trade offers) list!  I'd be glad to consider purchases of other guns too, whether you were to pay me cash first for my TTR, or even if you don't.

But, the problem with craigslist potential traders is they've thought their guns were worth about double the going bid prices on bungroker, or they refused to identify the particular model, or tell me how they arrived at their price, or send pictures, etc.   You know, your typical craigslist moron that shouldn't be permitted to own guns anyway.

You're smarter than that!  You'd be a responsible and smart trading partner, right! ?

I've priced it according to the prices they're going for on eBay and craigslist.

* the VIN is not correct, sorry, but I didn't have it handy when posting the ad.

** of course, the mileage is also incorrect, cause eBAY???????????  It's a freakin' dirt bike, and DIRT BIKES don't have ODOMETERS!

* * * I have a ton of pics of it, and if you'd like to see more, just ask.  I aim to please!

2013 AMA Superbike Daytona Race Report

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

The story leading up to the opening round of the 2013 AMA Pro National Guard Superbike season was whether anyone would be able to keep up with defending champion Josh Hayes. After all, the Monster Energy Graves Yamaha rider dominated the competition last season winning 16 of 20 races including a string of 10 in a row. The season-opening round at Daytona International Speedway appeared to start on script with Hayes qualifying in pole position.

Oh that Colin Edwards. The Texas Tornado been the industry’s go-to personality for funny videos. Edwards has gone on a Man-cation with Ben Spies, put Yamaha Extended Service agents through boot camp and starred in his own feature in MotoGP’s official video podcast. The latest hijinks from the Clown Prince of the MotoGP paddock is the first in what looks to be a series of videos in support of the 2013 Progressive International Motorcycle Shows tour.

This picture of me chasing Foggy on the Daytona banking in 1991 brought back some bitter sweet memories recently. I did half a season as his team mate on the Silkolene RC30s before scurrying off to Japan to ride a factory Yamaha Superbike. I’ve never been a quitter but I felt the team that year was gear stretched running two riders so it was a case of last in first out.
