2008 Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe, 19157 miles, 1300cc engine, bike has the Venture Touring Seats (also have original seats), trunk with luggage rack and LED Brake light (trunk is quick detachable) LED chrome license plate cover, highway pegs, cruise control, quick detachable windshield, RoadKing exhaust, air ride suspension, heel/toe shifter.

Excellent Touring bike, very comfortable on long trips for both driver and passenger.  Nice riding bike with a lot of get up and go.  Also, has great storage for a weekend trip! Bike has been well taken care of and garage kept.

What you are watching is a highlight of Mike Hailwood's segment from the racing documentary Take it to the Limit - A Motorcycle Odyssey. The Yamaha - built by the extraordinary Kel Carruthers - that Hailwood is riding in the clip featured a unique frame with the camera housed within. The voice-over recording provided by Hailwood was done by taping a small mic to the bottom of his lip so he could dictate his guide to the 37.73 mile route.

The U.S. motorcycle industry saw a 4.6% decrease in year-on-year sales over the first six months of 2011, thanks mostly to a 17.3% drop in ATV sales. Motorcycle and scooter sales however saw a 1.7% bump in the first half .

OEMs Plug into Electric Bikes

KTM introduced its prototype electric motorcycle earlier this week, and electric bike manufacturer Zero Motorcycles almost immediately responded by opening sales on its 2009 Zero X dirt bike (look for our review of the 2008 model next week!). But these two companies aren’t the only ones exploring the possibilities of electric-powered motorcycles. In September, Japan’s largest industrial information journal Nikkei Business Daily reported that both Honda and Yamaha have set target dates for launching their own electric-powered motorcycles.
