Yamaha Royal Star description

2005 Yamaha Royal Star , Beautiful black with red 2005 Royal Star Tour Deluxe. Approximately 37K miles. Perfect balance between comfy long haul tour bike with windshield, back rest, and hard bags, and tough boulevard cruiser when the quick release windshield and back rest are removed. Has a smooth powerful 1300cc liquid cooled v-4 engine with 100HP and throaty dual exhaust. 5.2 gallon fuel tank with a range of over 200 miles due to it regularly getting over 45MPG. Has cruise control and adjustable air shocks, powerful front and back disc brakes and shaft-drive. I have taken this bike on many multi-day trips both solo and two-up. It's always a head turner and I'm usually the most comfortable rider in my group. The Pirelli tires were new last season. Maintenance always done by the dealer or professional shop. Only mechanical problem it's ever had was a factory warranty ignition coil replace in its third season. The bike is beautiful and it's in really great shape but there are a few places where it's starting show it's age a little bit- specifically the replaceable chrome exhaust pipe tips need to be replaced there is a scuff/scratch on the left rear hard bag where some hat didn't know how to park and hit it (you can see it in one of the pictures) and some of the chrome is starting to wear out some. Mechanically, the bike is perfect. I don't really want to sell this bike, I really love it, but I'm moving to an island and it doesn't make sense to have such a big kick- tough bike. $4,800.00 2062351808

Day 11 Dakar 2014: Coma Wins, Extends Overall Lead

Thu, 16 Jan 2014

Day 11 marked the longest stage to date of the Dakar Rally, as the competitors tackled the 605km (376 miles) special stage, covering a variety of terrain, hard ground, mountains, plus 120km (75 miles) of sand and dunes in the Copiapo area. Despite this, and a fall at the beginning of the stage, Marc Coma again demonstrated his status as boss of the Dakar 2014, by picking up his third victory of the year, further reinforcing his position at the top of the general standings. Five-time Dakar winner Cyril Depres opened the piste for 400km before dropping slightly to finish just 02:31 behind Marc Coma in first.
