Yamaha Road Star description

The Road Star Silverado 1600:Road Star Silverado 1600 The brawny Road Star Silverado__ (and its Road Star sibling) thundered onto the cruiser scene 6 years ago, taking it by storm with its sheer size, classic retro styling and heaps of torque. But then, it's hardly a mystery why this belt-driven mega-machine made such a huge impression. And now its home to a gigantic new 102 cubic-inch air-cooled, long-stroke, OHV 48__ twin engine that pumps out huge amounts of torque barely off idle for brisk acceleration and fantastic overall cruising performance. Additional engine mods include redesigned valve system, camshafts, rocker arms, air induction system, cooling fins and beefed up clutch. Bottom line...more power and performance. An all-new lightweight and high-strength final drive belt provides long life, quiet operation and better accelration. All-new brakes featuring dual 298mm front disc brakes with 4-piston calipers (that come straight off the YZF-R1) and 320mm single disc rear brake for strong stopping power. Short and long range rider comfort is supreme thanks to wide, swept-back, 1-diameter, rubber-mounted handle bars, restyled touring rider seat that's 40mm wider, a reshaped passenger seat and full-size floating-type rider floorboards with new rubber inserts. And when you're wrapped in a swank casual touring package - large, adjustable windscreen, leather saddlebags, studded seats and backrest, whitewalls - as gorgeous as it is all-powerful, people just get plain ecstatic. Once you slide your leg over one, you'll know exactly how they feel. This bike only has 15, 000 mis. New tabs and new battery last fall. Extras- K and N air filter, Windshield, engine bar, highway pegs, luggage rack, customized fiberglass saddle bags, fog lamps, passenger running board and back rest, flashing break lamps, cobra slip on exhaust pipe with slice, (original factory pipes available) other chrome accessories added. AMA Supercross: 2012 Los Angeles Results

Mon, 23 Jan 2012

Chad Reed won his first race of the 2012 AMA Supercross season in Los Angeles but the victory was overshadowed by a first-lap collision that left Trey Canard and Ryan Morais with broken backs. Racing for Team Honda Muscle Milk, Canard was injured on the first lap after catching a piece of some signage. That forced him to single a triple jump, putting him in the path of Star Valli Yamaha rider Ryan Morais who landed on Canard from behind.

Results From Day 1 Of World Supersport Testing At Phillip Island

Mon, 17 Feb 2014

Despite losing the World Supersport title last year to a hard-charging Sam Lowes, Mahi Racing Team India’s Kenan Sofuoglu, aboard his Kawasaki ZX-6R, hasn’t lost any of the pace that has made him the overwhelming favorite heading into 2014. He topped the timesheets on the first day of testing at Phillip Island, setting a time of 1:33.521, putting him at near lap-record pace. Second on the day was Dutchman Michael van der Mark, aboard the Pata Honda CBR600RR.

Yamaha Champions Riding School August Update

Tue, 05 Aug 2014

Our friends at the Yamaha Champions Riding School have been busy lately. Since moving to New Jersey Motorsports park in April, traffic has steadily risen, with June being sold out and July not far behind. August is very promising with some new ideas (one-day clinics to bring a more economical program to a larger group of riders) being inserted into the mix as well as a normal two-day school at the end of the month, which is already 80% full thanks to the yearly visit from the engineering department of Harley Davidson. Following August YCRS will have two schools the week directly after the AMA Pro races at NJMP.
