Yamaha Road Star description

2003 Yamaha Road Star, Silver Edition, 1600cc motorcycle. It is in near mint condition, and runs perfect, with just over 24,200mis. This is a limited production bike. Only 1600 were made, and it has the special serial plate to prove it. The battery is good, and the tires are brand new! It has an open exhaust (Shogun pipes) but I do still have the original factory exhaust if you prefer a quieter bike. It has an open air kit (K&N style filter), and a carb jet kit. I have been keeping up with the maintenance and have been using semi-synthetic oil. There are factory bolt-on saddle bags, and an aftermarket backrest. There is a lot of chrome. I will also include the cover that I bought for it, extra motor oil, and the air filter recharge kit. This is a fantastic bike, and it is loud. BUY NOW, AND I WILL STORE IT FOR YOU FOR FREE FOR THE WINTER! It is located in Marengo. $5700Please Google Map Marengo BEFORE you call me. We are about 50mis northwest of Chicago. SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY. NO TEST RIDES. 847-323-XXXX

Geeky snippets ahead of the Phillip Island MotoGP

Tue, 13 Oct 2009

Valentino Rossi has finished on the podium eleven times in his twelve visits to Phillip Island across all three GP classes. The only race at Phillip Island that he did not finish in the top three was on his first visit riding a 125cc machine in 1997 when he finished sixth. In 1998 and 1999 he won the 250cc races and since then has had nine podiums in the premier-class including five victories, the last of which was in 2005.

Yamaha's roadster now has one more achievement on the long list - this time the bike was awarded with the prestigious Red Dot Award for design. It is the fifth in a row for this model and the fifth for the company. Not bad huh!

Not the most sensible of commuters..

Wed, 04 Apr 2012

This is the white and gold 2012 Yamaha R1. It's also the bike I shall be commuting on for the next 8 months. The crouched riding position and murderous amounts of power may not be ideally suited for the London grind, but with plenty of track action planned I have to make some compromises. There are three fresh colours to choose from.
