The Raider was inspired by the custom chopper movement, but since its a Star, it had to also handle, stop and go. With the addition of this machine, the Star line offers the most diverse line of custom V-twins on the planet.

Jefferies' TT V&M R1 for sale
Tue, 26 Apr 2011We got a tip-off about a former David Jefferies TT R1 for sale on eBay. The owner says it's from the 1998 TT but I'm pretty sure it was the one he raced in 1999. Here's a little bit more background about the V&M TT effort in 1999: In 1990 Jack Valentine gave up racing to concentrate on running V&M Racing, and after being sacked by Honda at the end of the 1998 season, the team set about to do some giant killing.

The decision, while unfortunate, isn’t hard to understand, as racing at the highest levels isn’t cheap, and a factory involvement means added pressure to succeed, which ultimately means spending more money to do so. The questions picked up a few months later when we dug up trademark filings for a whole range of model names from an R2 to an R9. With the 2023 model launch season in full swing, and EICMA less than two weeks away, weve got more fuel for the old rumor engine with two new Yamaha filings, this time for figurative trademarks for R9 and YZF-R9. The trademarks were filed Oct.
