Yamaha Other description

1997 Yamaha TZ250 Race bike Thank you very much for looking. Thisis a purpose built two-stroke GP race bike. I bought this a few years ago froma guy who raced it in AFM and took impeccable care of it.I only raced maybe four or five races with it but never finished off thepodium, it has to be hands down the most fun bike I have ever ridden. Like anyrace bike, it has been down a couple times in practice so there are sometypical cosmetic scratches on the fairings and and a dent to the top of the gastank (no leaks and never had any problem with the tank). Personally I think itadds character haha. Honestly, I would rather never sellthe bike but I am an air force pilot and on a 1:1 deployment/dwell ratio. Spendingevery spring/summer in Afghanistan and only being home for the winters has madeit extremely difficult to find opportunities to ride this INCREDIBLE bike outof season....and I hate making it sit in my garage when it should be gettingthrashed around a track. If you aren't familiar with two-stroke gp bike youshould look into them 1st as they aren't your typical track bike, but I'venever ridden anything as rewarding to ride hard around track. Also, don't letthe 250cc fool you, its got 80-somethin horsepower and weighs under 225 lbs.thats 2 HUNDRED pounds less or HALF the weight of any 600cc bike on thestreet (I can lift the bike in the air by myself). Straight line accelerationis more than capable but with such light weight the cornering speeds are trulyjaw-dropping. Here's some specific information on theparts included and such and I'll try to post all the images I got below: 650 mis on the bottom end, allbearings, crank and seals were changed at the beginning of January 2008. Youstill have 850mis to go on this crank. The crank in the bike was a new cranknot a rebuild 150mis on current top end Cylinders ported by Kevin Murray anddetonation rings installed (see pics) Spare parts: Two sets of bodywork. Back in the day, the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba

Fri, 24 Jun 2011

This ‘you tube’ gem sent to me recently brought back some funny memories from the scary but incredibly exciting days of 500cc two stroke racing. This particular race was the final round of the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba Circuit where I enjoyed a head to head battle with national hero Tadahiko Taira. Yamaha’s favourite son at the time, ‘tie wrap’ as we liked to call him, was taller and better looking than most Japanese riders (maybe a war baby?) and went on to win nearly everything in Japan during his career.

Ryan Villopoto returned to the top of the podium and extended his lead in the 2012 AMA Supercross Championship to 13 points with a victory at the Edwards Jones Dome in St. Louis, Mo. The Monster Energy Kawasaki rider had his win streak snapped at three after losing to Red Bull KTM‘s Ryan Dungey last week in Atlanta, Ga., but Villopoto returned to form in St.

Motorcycle.com Adds a New Editor

Mon, 05 Nov 2012

While some moto publications are cutting back and constricting, Motorcycle.com is proud to announce the addition of a new editor to our masthead. MO readers, meet Jon Langston, our new Associate Editor. I knew Langston was a cool cat when I first met him at the Harley-Davidson Blackline unveiling in January 2011.
