Up for is is a very nice 1975 Yamaha RD350. The RD runs and rides like new, starts on the first kick, no leaks, every works, lights, turn signals, horn, etc. It has low miles, a little over 4600. Original Paint and decals are nice and bright on the tank and side covers with no dents, but a couple tiny scratches on the tank. The seat is perfect. Most of the chrome is nice but some minor pitting on the front fender. All in all, this is one of the nicest looking and best running original un-restored rd's we've seen. Thu, 10 Sep 2009You’ll realize how cheesy that headline is after watching the pretty rad video that Yamaha has released. Yamaha’s new motocross bike has taken a radical new approach. The engine is backwards. Yamaha’s reason for doing this is to shift the heavy end of the motor more to the center of the motorcycle to make it more agile and responsive. Slanting the cylinder also made for a straighter pathway for the air intake at the front of the bike.
Yamaha to Cut Motorcycle Production in 2009
Thu, 26 Feb 2009With mounting inventories coupled with a drop in demand, Yamaha will be cutting its motorcycle production in Japan by 24 percent this year or to about 260,000 total units; one newspaper reported this would be a 40-year low for the manufacture. Yamaha plans to cut production for motorcycles and other products by 30 percent in the Americas, 20 percent in Europe but will maintain production levels in Asia where demand has not dropped off. The company is forecasting its group sales to fall 22 percent with an operating loss of about $300 million.
Lorenzo Crashes in Practice Again; This Time He’ll Skip the Race
Fri, 12 Jul 2013Reigning MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo has suffered another high-speed crash during free practice ahead of the German Grand Prix at Sachsenring. Lorenzo had a similar crash during practice in the previous round at Assen, but still lined up on the grid to race, finishing fifth despite breaking his collarbone in three places in the accident. This time, however, the Yamaha rider decided to withdraw from the race.
