1982 Yamaha Other on 2040-motos
Yamaha Other tech info
Yamaha Other description
I have this ORIGINAL 1982 Yamaha IT175 for sale. It has not been molested and even has the original tool kit with it. It has been from California to Tennessee that I know of. It was sold at an auction in TN then sold to a family member. I purchased it from him nearly three years ago. Since I have owned it I have raced it in a couple of Cross Country Vintage Class races. It runs great but it can be a typical 2-stroke at times and will need to be kicked more than once. This bike mostly sits in my garage where I can admire it. I have since purchased a couple of other vintage bikes that need my attention more so this one has to go. The bike is a good 6-8 out of 10 for it's age.
List of things the old bike needs or is not original: 1. Fork seals- I do have seal savers on it but the seals need replaced 2. Dent in the pipe- Did that myself when I fell against a tree on a trail 3. One of the decals on the tank is not original 4. Has Renthal bars 5. I did cut the dog bone down a little on the rear suspension linkage to lower it a bit for a shorter rider...done well and professionally 6. Tires are old I will not ship this bike so it is available for local pick-up only. PayPal only for deposit. Please see pics and ask any questions that you might have. Otherwise, see my feedback and bid with confidence. This bike does not have a title however, that wasn't an option for the drop box above. It is OFF-ROAD only. |

Team Hammer Releases Martin Cardenas
Fri, 04 Jan 2013AMA Pro Racing’s Team Hammer has released Martin Cardenas from his contract to allow the reigning AMA Daytona Sportbike Champion “to better pursue his goal of returning to World Championship competition as soon as possible.” Though the eventual goal appears to be for Cardenas to move up to the World Superbike Championship, rumors have Cardenas landing with the Yoshimura Suzuki factory team to race in the AMA Superbike Championship in 2013 as an eventual stepping stone towards international racing. Cardenas won the 2010 and 2012 AMA Daytona Sportbike championships with Team Hammer riding a Suzuki GSX-R600. Team Hammer held a contract option for Cardenas for the 2013 season but decided to release the Colombian racer, allowing him to take a different route towards a WSBK career.
AMA Superbike: 2012 Daytona Results
Tue, 20 Mar 2012Josh Hayes and Blake Young picked things up where they left off by trading wins at the 2012 season-opening AMA Superbike round at Daytona International Speedway. Reigning champion Hayes of Monster Energy Graves Yamaha took the first race handily, leading almost right from the start of the 15-lap race for the win. Yoshimura Suzuki’s Young, who finished second to Hayes in the 2011 AMA Superbike Championship, responded by taking the second race, but only by a slim 0.002-second margin.
