Yamaha Other description

Up for sale is a 1980 Yamaha XT250. It has been reconditioned. Torn down to the frame and everything cleaned up and repainted. Everything works as it should. Bike kicks over easily within 3-4 kicks. Decomp cable is hooked up and working properly. Runs, stops, shifts, rides great. Put a few miles on since reconditioning. No problems. I also did the roll pin modification to the crank shaft to get more oil delivery to the top end. All lights, signals, horn work. Mileage is unknown. Speedo stopped working so I swapped it out with another one. Engine that is in the bike is not the original but original engine goes with bike. Not sure if the original engine is good. I used the better looking of the two that I had. Bike is not currently inspected but should only need DOT tires to pass. Tires on now are dirt only. Front 70% left. Rear 50% left. Have clean and clear PA title in hand, in my name.

List of new parts:

  • Fuel line and filter
  • Key switch
  • front and rear brake shoes
  • headlight mounts
  • rear taillight socket
  • air filter element
  • bigger pilot jet (#20)
  • battery
  • chain
  • front brake cable
  • speedometer cable
  • clutch cable band
  • carb rebuild kit
  • front and rear tire tubes
  • carb intake gasket
  • carb boot
  • graphics kit (from Speed and Sport)
  • oil filter and oil
  • roll pin (for crankshaft)
  • handle bars
  • grips

Have receipts for all parts. Nice little bike. Fun on dirt or street. Keeps up with my 2013 Honda CRF250L. Any questions please email or call 717-5o3-5181. Can possibly deliver for additional fee. Cash only. Thanks-Colby

Yamaha R1 rider lowsides on left-hander

Tue, 23 Mar 2010

THIS GUY'S lucky he doesn't get flicked over the top, after losing the back end of his Yamaha YZF-R1 on a twisty section of mountain road. He looks pretty miffed at the result; we think he got away lightly. It could have been soooo much worse if the rear tyre had gripped and lobbed the rider over the top.
