Yamaha Other description

I got a couple of old Yami's that I'm looking to get rid of.

They're 70's enduros.  The red one runs and rides.  Has new tires and tubes as of last year.  Also put on a new seat cover.  It stops like you would think a 40 year old bike with drum brakes does.... Poorly.  It runs good, kind of a cold blooded bastard.  But its a lot of fun, pretty dang peppy.

My buddies and I thought it would be cool to do up a couple old bikes and ride them so that's what we did.  They soon realized that we're old and have kids and wives so it's hard to get out and ride them.

This bike has sat since last fall and I went out last week and gave it a couple kicks and it fired right up.  I took a couple laps around the property and put it back in the barn.  So yes it does run, shifts through all the gears.

Lucky for you I got a parts bike to include.  This one looks like it was street legal at some point.  When I bought them neither of them had titles.  I didn't expect the red one/ which actually came with the white mx tank and side covers to have one since it's a dirtbike.  But I didn't get one for the street legal one either.  I will write the new owner a bill of sale.

The Pursuit of Yamaha-ness – A Message from Yamaha’s CEO

Thu, 10 Jan 2013

Yamaha must “pursue true Yamaha-ness and break out of our old norms” if it hopes to increase profitability, says Hiroyuki Yanagi, the company’s president and chief executive officer. In an open letter released by Yamaha, Yanagi discussed what his company needed to do in order to reach its goal of producing 12 million units this year and collecting 2 trillion yen (US$22.5 billion) in sales. Yanagi’s message offered little in specific details but provided a glimpse of Yamaha’s overall strategy for the next few years.

AMA Pro Racing Announces Basic Twins Flat Track Class for 2014 Season

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

AMA Pro Racing announced a new class for Flat Track racing designed to provide a new stepping stone for up-and-coming Pro-licensed racers, replacing the Pro Singles class in 2014. The new class, to be called Basic Twins, is more or less a revival of the Basic Expert Twins division that ran during the 2007 and 2008 seasons, but dropped when the Pro Singles class was introduced for 2009. The new class will give young racers a chance to showcase their skills on Twins, easing their transition to eventually enter the Grand National Expert Twins class.

Retirement is rife but thankfully not for Vale

Thu, 15 Nov 2012

The racing season may be over but the winter nights will surely fly by as we watch reviews, debate events of 2012 racing and relish the excitement that lays ahead in 2013. Unfortunately retirement seems to be popular right now so with major names leaving BSB, WSB and Moto GP things will never quite be the same. I’m still in shock that Casey Stoner has decided to head back home for a spot of fishing.
