1972 Yamaha RT1 360 With a clear Ohio Title. Frame and engine numbers match. This bike has had all the lights and wiring stripped off and has been used for mild trail riding. The oil injection is blocked off and it is being premixed. The pump is still there. The best thing about this bike is the engine. It runs very strong. Move the kick start down and you know this is great motor. No hint of any bearing noise or feel and you can hear the reeds hum. Lots of compression. The clutch action is good but does slip some when you get on it. Probably has glazed clutch plates. Not a big deal. Inside of the tank is clean. This is a great bike to restore. Titled bike numbers matching with a sound power plant. Take a good look at the pictures. You can also call me with any questions you might have 440-346-6314 ask for Bob. Wed, 01 Oct 2014Yamaha fans expecting to hear big news from the Tuning Fork brand at Intermot may be a bit disappointed the Cologne show only brought us a refreshed XJR1300, the MT-07 Moto Cage stunt variant and a futuristic three-wheeled concept model. The first two aren’t likely to come to North America and the third might never see production. But fear not, as while most of the motorcycle world was focused on Intermot, Yamaha released a video teasing a “new era” supersport announcement for Nov.
R1 noise, bike porn and a quick lap
Tue, 24 Apr 2012Trawling the internet for a sound clip of the Crossplane Crank Yamaha R1 on full chatter, I came across this: a few fast laps on board with New Zealand Superbike racer Tony Rees as he works the CABS Throttle Blipper on his 2011 R1. (Skip to 7:35 for the fast ones.) CABS is a system used by Superbike teams that makes use of the R1’s digitally controlled throttle. When you change up a gear, the bike blips in the perfect amount of revs to save time on track and make downshifts as quick and easy as clutch-less upshifts.
