Yamaha Other description

Up for auction a 1972 YAMAHA DS7. With Title.

This bike runs and is a good candidate for a full restoration or to make a cafe racer.

The bike is mostly original, except for the paint (fuel tank top).

As you can see on the pictures, the top was painted black........Probably with a spray can, but it is not dented.

Also, the tank emblems are not original. (Very obvious).

The inside has very small rust spots. Nothing major.

The front fender has some dings and dents.

The fork seals were replaced. Inner tubes are good. No rust.

The frame and engine number match.

The seat is ok, no rips but the foam is hard.

It has a brand new battery and air box rubber boots.

The engine starts and runs fine. It may need rings. The top end rattles a bit.

Clutch, brakes and tranny ok and all electrical is good.

The tires will need to be replaced.

The mufflers are very nice, no dents and the chrome still good.

Keep in mind that this bikes needs TLC and work.

As is runs, but it is not safe to ride with the current tires.

Please refer to the pictures for details and ask all the questions you want.

Good luck.

OEMs Plug into Electric Bikes

Sat, 01 Nov 2008

KTM introduced its prototype electric motorcycle earlier this week, and electric bike manufacturer Zero Motorcycles almost immediately responded by opening sales on its 2009 Zero X dirt bike (look for our review of the 2008 model next week!). But these two companies aren’t the only ones exploring the possibilities of electric-powered motorcycles. In September, Japan’s largest industrial information journal Nikkei Business Daily reported that both Honda and Yamaha have set target dates for launching their own electric-powered motorcycles.
