THIS IS A FACTORY MOTOCROSS MOTORCYCLE.. IT IS IN NEED OF TOTAL RESTORATION..

THIS IS A GOOD FOUNDATION TO BUILD A BEAUTIFUL, HIGHLY COLLECTABLE PIECE OF YAMAHA MOTOCROSS HISTORY. I JUST DON'T HAVE THE TIME. MOST ALL PIECES AND HARDWARE ARE AVAILABLE HERE ON EBAY FOR THIS BIKE..

THIS DT1 250 MX HAS MATCHING FRAME AND ENGINE NUMBERS, DT1-90969..

ALL FACTORY GYT PARTS ARE THERE, 285 CARBURETOR, LARGE AIRBOX, CYLINDER AND HEAD, NICE FACTORY GYT EXPANSION CHAMBER.

ENGINE WILL NOT TURN OVER. I HAVE HAD THIS FOR ABOUT ONE YEAR, WHEN I TOOK IT AS TRADE IT DID TURN OVER.. SIDE CASES ARE THERE AND NOT CRACKED OR BROKEN, ALL FINS ON CYLINDER AND HEAD ARE GOOD. NICE KICK START LEVER AND GEAR SHIFT LEVER. OIL INJECTOR IS NOT HOOKED UP. APPEARS TO SHIFT THROUGH THE GEARS..

TANK IS NOT PERFECT BUT WILL RESTORE NICELY. BIGGEST DENT IS ON RIGHT SIDE.

VERY NICE CORRECT ORIGINAL ALUMINUM FRONT FENDER AND MOUNT.. REAR FENDER IS NOT PERFECT BUT WITH SOME EFFORT WILL STRAIGHTEN OUT NICELY.

FRAME APPEARS SOLID.. KICKSTAND IS THERE.

SEAT PAN SHOULD WORK IF YOU CHOOSE TO USE IT, IT DOES HAVE RUST AND A FEW SMALL PIN HOLES..

HANDLEBARS APPEAR STRAIGHT BUT THE CHROME IS NOT PERFECT. YAMAHA LEVERS AND PERCHES, CORRECT THROTTLE.

PLEASE CHECK THE PHOTO'S OUT GOOD, WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET..

Yamaha has released a new video of the 2012 YZF-R1 featuring MotoGP racer Ben Spies taking the new bike with Yamaha’s 50th Anniversary limited edition livery to a track day. Spies who won the 2009 World Superbike Championship on a Yamaha R1 so he is obviously very familiar with the sportbike which will now be available with a seven-level traction control system. Spies appears a little bored as the other riders learn the layout of the track and when they get to the track, he calmly waits while they take off around him before dropping the hammer and showing them how it’s done.

Fuel injection settings have also been tweaked for smoother response at low to mid revs.
