Yamaha Other description

For sale is a very good to excellent original 1971 Yamaha HS-1B 90cc 2-stroke twin.   Bike is in original unrestored, but very unmolested and great looking and running condition.  45 year old bike has normal nicks and some light surface corrosion patina on rear light bracket, but not much else..

Motor starts and runs great, with an awesome 2-stroke twin sound. Carbs are clear and run great at idle, low, mid, and full throttle.   Motor pulls great once warmed up and is totally stock.   Original Yamalube oil tank and pump work perfectly and oil injection not a concern here.  Original twin chrome mufflers in excellent to pristine shape,  best I've seen and all baffles intact, no rust.   Bikes clutch and shifting are perfect no issues,   this bike pulls strong to 50 mph likely more if run out,  but I have mainly just ran it in subdivision as a "fun" bike.....

Electrical tail light good and brake light,  turn signals,  just no instrument light and headlight,  but these are bulbs needed, about the biggest flaw!   Tach and speedo work perfectly no issues. Brakes also good as well as tires and chain.   Chrome chain guide very nice.   No rot inside tank at all and petcock is clear and flows well.

Only think I would do to keep the bike long term is pull top end and inspect, replace head gaskets and re-torque heads.   Put fresh rings in for long term,  but no signs needing that, compression run out and running are all excellent.  Also, replace the instrument and headlamp bulbs.  All else working well.

In short excellent running and very, very nice original cosmetics rare 90cc 2 stroke twin model, nice paint, and a super fun bike, rarer than the endure singles, runs out strong for a 90cc typical Yamaha excellent engineering.  Needs nothing to enjoy and ride and show.   No trades, selling outright as thinning my vintage collection.  You will enjoy this motorcycle,  rare model and condition!

Note no title.  Georgia does not require titles prior to 1985 and I did not receive one when I purchased it in a package sale from Arizona seller 10 years ago.

Shipping buyers responsibility,  but no rush on pick-up...see deposit and full payment terms please.  I have great feedback and expect winning bidders to complete transaction.  Non paying bidders reported.

How To Rebuild a Yamaha R6 In Under A Minute + Video

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

If you’re new to the road racing scene, you might have heard the terms “Factory” and “Privateer.” For the casual observer, you’ll notice the difference between the two ultimately comes down to money and support, as one is likely working out of the back of their van while the other is supported by an 18-wheeler. This video, shot by the Y.E.S./Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha team makes the line between the two sides clear as day. Watch as the Yamaha crew rebuilds Garrett Gerloff’s R6 from the frame up after a nasty crash with enough time to make the race.

The sudden and tragic passing of Tommy Aquino has hit the entire motorcycling community hard. In order to preserve and honor the spirit and positive attitude of the late Tommy Aquino, AMA Pro Racing announced today that a “Tommy Aquino Spirit Award” will be granted to an AMA Pro Road Racing rider who best embodies the spirit of the paddock during the 2014 season. The paddock will vote for the rider who exemplifies qualities mirroring those of Tommy including passion for the sport, fan engagement and team interaction. The award will be presented on behalf of Cortech and Shoei at the conclusion of the 2014 AMA Pro Road Racing season. “Over the past eight years we have had the pleasure of working with Tommy Aquino, but he was much more than just another Shoei athlete,” said Hiro Mizushima, President of Shoei Safety Helmet Corp.
