Rare 1969 Yamaha TD2 race bike! I purchased the bike in the condition shown in the pictures with the intention of doing a complete restoration. The person that was hired to do the restoration suffered some health issues and could not finish project.
The bike was disassembled and some work was done before he had to stop. Frame has been powder coated and reassembled to the degree you see in the pictures. We did not get a chance to split the engine cases. Some items in the pictures showing spare parts may already be in the motor or on the frame. Frame# 900285 Engine# DS6 900285 If you familiar with the Yamaha TD2, then you know the success the bike had on the track in the hands of professionals and amateur racers. If not familiar with the bike, the following is a short write up. Just one of many stories mentioning the bikes success. The mainstay of 250cc and 350cc class racing at national and international level for many years, the twin-cylinder two-stroke Yamaha well deserved the title of 'privateer's friend'. The 250cc TD2 arrived in 1969, replacing the TD1C, and immediately proved capable of winning Grands Prix, privateer Kent Andersson triumphing in the German round at Hockenheim that year, one of Yamaha's most significant classic victories. The giant leap forward from the TD1C had been achieved thanks to a comprehensive redesign that saw the porting and exhaust system updated, superior Mikuni carburetors adopted and the chassis, suspension and brakes greatly improved. Looking like a scaled down Norton Featherbed, the TD2's chassis was a development of that used for the RD56 works racer. Broadly similar as far as its frame and cycle parts were concerned, the 350cc TR3 differed mainly by virtue of its horizontally-split crankcases, a feature not introduced on the 250 until the TD3's arrival in 1972. Kel Carruthers on the works Benelli 'four' denied Kent Anderson the 250cc World Championship in 1969 but the following year the TD2 came good when Rod Gould, riding a works machine entered by Yamaha Motor NV of Holland, took the title. |

2022 Yamaha NEO's, E01 Electric Scooter Details Released

Yamaha has described the NEO’s as providing performance on par with a 50cc gasoline-powered scooter. We now know the NEO’s offers a claimed peak output of 3.4 hp, with a nominal power output of 3.1 hp.

Now Yamaha has introduced the next motorcycle in the Darkness collection, the MT-07, effectively the MT/FZ-09′s little brother. Designed to “bring fun, affordability and enjoyment back to the street,” the MT-07 is powered by a brand new, 689cc parallel-Twin with 270-degree crank incorporating Yamaha’s “crossplane philosophy” of developing linear torque for smoother power application.

It's beautifully shot/directed and captures GP rider Mike Duff's recovery from a horrific hip and pelvis injury suffered at the Japanese GP which cost him a six month stay in hospital. Watching him push-start makes you wince just imagining the pain he must have been in.
