Yamaha Other description

Nice original AT1 for someone looking for a unrestored vintage motorcycle. Runs well and starts with the Electric start (new battery) as well as kick. I freshened up the top end this past winter (piston and rings).  Crank seals replaced, tires/tubes, chain, handle bars and levers. While I had the forks off for new seals I replaced the rubber grommets in the fender brackets  (original Aluminum fender) . The bike has it scuffs and bruises for its 47 years. I am pointing out the knee bump in the tank (left side) also the seat issues. It currently has a pod air filter because I can't locate a rubber boot for the stock air box (yet). The bike looks good and only 4.7 miles so far. The title is in my name. Questions welcome. Thanks for looking

The Pursuit of Yamaha-ness – A Message from Yamaha’s CEO

Thu, 10 Jan 2013

Yamaha must “pursue true Yamaha-ness and break out of our old norms” if it hopes to increase profitability, says Hiroyuki Yanagi, the company’s president and chief executive officer. In an open letter released by Yamaha, Yanagi discussed what his company needed to do in order to reach its goal of producing 12 million units this year and collecting 2 trillion yen (US$22.5 billion) in sales. Yanagi’s message offered little in specific details but provided a glimpse of Yamaha’s overall strategy for the next few years.

Canada Gets Race Blu 2013 Yamaha Fazer8

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

Back in September, Yamaha revealed a special “Race Blu” livery for a the YZF-R1, YZF-R6 and the YZF-R125 for the European market. Yamaha promoted the new color scheme with Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies sporting the colors on their leathers and M1 race bikes at the Misano and Aragon MotoGP rounds. North American consumers were left out, however, getting a Team Yamaha Blue and White version instead for the R1 and R6 (the R125 isn’t offered here either).

This picture of me chasing Foggy on the Daytona banking in 1991 brought back some bitter sweet memories recently. I did half a season as his team mate on the Silkolene RC30s before scurrying off to Japan to ride a factory Yamaha Superbike. I’ve never been a quitter but I felt the team that year was gear stretched running two riders so it was a case of last in first out.
