This is a currently running 1975 Yamaha DT 175 which, for me, has be the absolute perfect bike. I bought it from the second owner (who's contact info I still have in case you want it), and had a buddy of mine that works as a motorcycle mechanic (thanks Ryan!) take a look at it to make sure it was sound. If you're a beginner, this is a great starter bike. It is light weight, maneuverable, and all around a really fun bike to ride. If you're experienced, this is a really fun bike to take around the city and even head off-road. It is an Enduro bike, which means that it is meant for streets as well as off-road use.
The bike is a Two Stroke, which basically means it kicks ass. Though the engine may be 175CC, it really has the power somewhere closer to 300CC if you want to ride it that way. It also is Oil-Injected, so you don't have to worry about mixing oil and gas together as you would for some two-stroke bikes. The bike is a kickstart-only bike and starts right up after one or two kicks and it idles just fine. The brakes, front and back, work as well. The headline has a high-beam and low-beam and the lights on the "dash" work just fine. Not only is the paint original, it also comes with the original toolset to fix the bike incase something goes wrong. I also have the manual, spare spark plug, and battery acid as well as a lock for the bike so you can lock it up when you're leaving it on the street for a bit. I know what you're thinking: "This bike is so rad! It's got a killer look to it, a classic American bike. But are there any issues?". A fair question! Currently, the bike has no mirrors or turn signals, but that hasn't been a problem. I just use my hands for signals and turn to make sure I'm safe to switch lanes. The horn doesn't work but I am told it is an easy fix. And that's it! I hope you enjoyed the post and are interested in the bike! Recall for 2011 Yamaha FJR1300
Mon, 11 Jul 2011Yamaha is initiating a recall campaign the 2011 FJR1300, just a week after a separate recall for the 2006-2009 versions of the sport touring motorcycle. Like the earlier campaign, the recall for the 2011 Yamaha FJR1300 is for an electrical issue, this time for the brake lights. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, brake light on affected units may not illuminate when the front brake lever is applied because the activating mechanism in the brake switch can bind.

Wed, 26 Feb 2014With the absence of Marc Marquez from the second Sepang MotoGP test, due to a broken leg suffered in a training accident, another Honda rider took his place at the top of the time sheets, though it’s not who you might think. Alvaro Bautista on the Gresini Honda set the fastest time at the end of the first day with a 2:00.848. The time is 1.3 second slower than the fastest time Marquez set at the last Sepang test.
