Yamaha YZF description

7090 Southwest Freeway 2011 Yamaha YZF R6 Condition: ExcellentColor: MaroonCall sales today at or shop with us on-line 24/7 at houstonsuperbikes.comDont let this beautiful bike pass you by. This #1 light weight contender wont last long the way our dedicated Houston riders are here. Yamaha's Chip Controlled (YCC-T) ride-by-wire throttle system with electronically controlled variable-length intake tracts (for a broader powerband) works to smooth out most of the dips and valleys from the high strung 599cc inline-Four, as well as reduce engine braking at high revs--another good idea that's mechanically aided by a back-torque-limiting slipper clutch.Lean forward into the racy riding position and you'll see a programmable shift light and big analog tachometer right where they belong: front and center. At 6 grand, a cleverly placed R6 logo serves as a good reference for where the engine needs to be spinning to get away from a standstill with a bogless launch. The rev limiter doesn't begin to cut in 'til 10,000 rpm later.Fully adjustable suspension can be tailored to soak up imperfect streets or firmed up for track days. The 41mm fork provides great feel from the Dunlop Qualifier's contact patch--and helped me avoid an incident brought on by a truck spilling transmission fluid right in front of me. That steep swingarm angle doesn't hurt when it comes to sudden midcorner corrections, either. Little pressure is required on the scalpel-thin front brake lever to stop the 394-pound-dry R6 in its tracks.

Yamaha R6 to Continue Racing in Supersport Next Generation Category

Mon, 17 Jan 2022

No R6 replacement for the near future Last month, the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) provided the first look at the new “ Supersport Next Generation” models that will redefine middleweight racing class. Starting with the 2022 season, the World Supersport class (and their equivalents in various national racing series such as MotoAmerica) will add new models such as the Ducati Panigale V2, MV Agusta F3 800, MV Agusta F3 Superveloce, Triumph Street Triple RS, Suzuki GSX-R750, and the 636cc Kawasaki ZX-6R. The primarily 600cc models that previously represented the class will continue for one more season, before the Supersport Next Generation models take over completely in 2023.

Recall for 2011 Yamaha FJR1300

Mon, 11 Jul 2011

Yamaha is initiating a recall campaign the 2011 FJR1300, just a week after a separate recall for the 2006-2009 versions of the sport touring motorcycle. Like the earlier campaign, the recall for the 2011 Yamaha FJR1300 is for an electrical issue,  this time for the brake lights. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, brake light on affected units may not illuminate when the front brake lever is applied because the activating mechanism in the brake switch can bind.

Yamaha Reports Q2 2013 Sales Results

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

Yamaha bounced back from a poor first quarter with sales of 1.530 million motorcycles over the second quarter ended June 30, 2013. The results represent a 1.5% increase from the 1.507 million motorcycles sold in the same quarter last year. Still, Yamaha’s first half motorcycle sales total of 3.0 million units remains behind last year’s tally of 3.1 million units because of the weak first quarter sales.
