Yamaha YZF description

1998 Yamaha R1 This is a one owner original pampered bike that is rare to find, especially in the red and white color scheme and because only a few of these first generation Yamaha superbikes were brought into the US in 98. They were a game changer then and set the bar and tone for the other makers for years. This motorcycle benefits from a complete servicing as of last week. All fluids and filters have been changed, and new tires were added as well. This is a one owner bike has been stored inside its entire life. It has never been over, but does have 1 small scratch on the gas tank and 2 small scratches on the right side fairing. All shown in the accompanying photos. It starts and rides like a new bike and is ready, either for a collector or a knowledgable rider.

Kenny Roberts, perhaps the best-known American motorcycle racer of all time, has signed on to the AIME show as “American International Motorcycle Champion.” In this role, Roberts will serve as the proverbial face of AIMExpo, joining in the celebration of the inaugural show with the entire powersports marketplace – industry, trade, media and consumers.

We’ve discussed the lifting of the rookie rule already, with the main impetus being to allow a manufacturer such as Honda to sign up-and-coming Moto2 star Marc Marquez when he is expected to move up to the premiere class next season. As of Jan.

Wed, 12 Mar 2014

The sudden and tragic passing of Tommy Aquino has hit the entire motorcycling community hard. In order to preserve and honor the spirit and positive attitude of the late Tommy Aquino, AMA Pro Racing announced today that a “Tommy Aquino Spirit Award” will be granted to an AMA Pro Road Racing rider who best embodies the spirit of the paddock during the 2014 season. The paddock will vote for the rider who exemplifies qualities mirroring those of Tommy including passion for the sport, fan engagement and team interaction. The award will be presented on behalf of Cortech and Shoei at the conclusion of the 2014 AMA Pro Road Racing season. “Over the past eight years we have had the pleasure of working with Tommy Aquino, but he was much more than just another Shoei athlete,” said Hiro Mizushima, President of Shoei Safety Helmet Corp.
