Yamaha YZF-R description

Thanks to himata13 for being another irresponsible bidder....or for letting his "brother" bid on the bike without him knowing. Relisting my bike....don't bid unless you really want to buy...

Up for sale is my 2009 Yamaha R1 track bike. This bike is a track only ride. No title - only Certificate of Destruction. There are only a couple states in the US which will allow you to re-build this bike and register it again. Florida is not one of them. It was involved in a minor accident with ONLY cosmetic damage. No frame or suspension damage at all. Included are a couple pictures of the condition of the bike the day of the wreck. I was on the bike and got cut off by another motorcyclist. The insurance company totaled it out and I bought it back to try and re-coup some of my money by turning it into a track ready bike. It has EBC rotors and pads, aftermarket gel grips, a full set of race fairings with brand new decals, brand new Metzler M5 tires with only about 100 miles on them, and a Two Brothers carbon exhaust with the catalytic converter removed. Bike will come with the spools and stands pictured.

The bike needs a windscreen and a bracket to hold the rear brake fluid reservoir. On these bikes, the reservoir is held up by the rear foot pegs and I removed them. After getting those two pieces, the bike is 100% ready to race.

No snow here folks!

Fri, 31 Dec 2010

An erratic work schedule combined with a full season of kids racing means, there aren’t many opportunities during the summer months for the Mackenzie family to grab a holiday. Instead, we tend to save our pennies and head off somewhere sunny for Christmas. I love doing this as it shortens the UK winter but more importantly it means I miss the festive frenzy.  I do like Christmas, but I hate how everyone gets caught up in the retail madness that kicks off just before Halloween, then has everyone stressed (and skint)before Santa has even hitched up his sleigh.

So that's why he's called RANDY de Puniet

Tue, 20 Jul 2010

RANDY de Puniet may well have just been ejected from his LCR Honda RC212V MotoGP racer during qualifying for Sunday's Sachsenring GP but that ain't gonna stop him from bringing one of the company perks with him to Dr Costa's on-circuit surgery. The Frenchman crashed during qualifying after hitting oil and water spilled on track by Jorge Lorenzo's Fiat Yamaha, after it spewed its guts along almost the entire length of the start finished straight. Following the crash De Puniet was whisked away on a stretcher with a suspected broken foot.

Air time Kenny Roberts-style

I can’t get enough of pictures that capture a specific, hard to define moment; the successful encapsulation of the absolute balls-to-the-wall, life or death commitment that riding a motorbike as fast as possible involves.  We all know. We’ve all been there – even if it’s only a once-in-a-lifetime moment. Maybe (for us mere mortals) it’s that rapidly, yet unexpectedly, tightening left-hand bend with a shitty, mud-covered veneer just at the apex.
