YCC-I, Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake, introduced in 2007 on the R1, is now used on the R6 to vary intake tract length for excellent cylinder lling and a broader powerband. On the higher-revving R6, its bene ts are even more pronounced. Slipper-type back torque-limiting clutch greatly facilitates braking/downshifting from high speed. Yamaha Customer Information Leaked – Personal Data for 607 Japanese Customers Compromised
Wed, 23 Nov 2011Yamaha has confirmed the personal information of 607 customers in Japan was leaked to a third party. According to Yamaha, personal information for recall and product improvement measures was leaked byYamaha Motorcycle Sales Japan Co., the manufacturer’s domestic group company. The information including names, mailing addresses, vehicle names and VIN, and dealership information for 607 customer accounts in the Aichi, Fukuoka and Kagoshima prefectures were received by an anonymous third party via fax on Nov.
Yamaha to Cut Motorcycle Production in 2009
Thu, 26 Feb 2009With mounting inventories coupled with a drop in demand, Yamaha will be cutting its motorcycle production in Japan by 24 percent this year or to about 260,000 total units; one newspaper reported this would be a 40-year low for the manufacture. Yamaha plans to cut production for motorcycles and other products by 30 percent in the Americas, 20 percent in Europe but will maintain production levels in Asia where demand has not dropped off. The company is forecasting its group sales to fall 22 percent with an operating loss of about $300 million.

The back of the helmet features an 'Evolution of Lorenzo', which charts the transition of the Mallorcan from boy to worldwide phenomenon, in a Charles Darwin cartoon stylee.If that doesn't float your boat there will be more options: Lorenzo's Captain America paint scheme, seen at the Indianapolis GP, will be available by the end of the year, along with the NASA-style astronaut helmet used during Lorenzo's stunning victory at Estoril.The helmet is priced at 484 euros (£442) on the European market.I feel a phone call coming on...
