Yamaha YZF-R description

I bought this motorcycle over a year ago and I've only ridden it through the neighborhood to make sure it was in good shape. I intended to take this to the track but I've never got around to it (I never even got a set of leathers!). It's been stored in a friends garage on pitbull stands and started occasionally. It has a host of goodies as you can see in the pics. The motor is stock except for the M4 exhaust system and the quickshifter. When I bought it, the previous owner had an invoice detailing all the upgrades but I can't seem to find it. If I come across it in the next day or two I will include it in the description otherwise most of the upgrades can be seen in the pics. The brakes discs have been upgraded. Both levers are folding which helps in the case of a crash. There's various carbon fiber accessories throughout the bike. It's pretty much setup to take to the track and ride. The only thing I would recommend before a track day would be new tires.

It seems pretty obvious from the pics but I just want to clarify that this bike is NOT street legal. I don't have any of the original parts.

The bike had a clean title and it has current registration as a non operating vehicle.

If you have any questions please ask. Thanks for looking

Top Five Global Motorcycle Companies Ranked

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

- Honda Motor Company Limited - Yamaha Motor Company Limited - Hero MotoCorp Limited - Bajaj Auto Limited - Harley–Davidson Incorporation According to Research And Markets, who bill themselves as “The World’s Largest Market Research Store,” these are the top five companies of the global motorcycle industry, with data collected from 2006 – 2011. The study itself is several chapters deep and must be purchased (you can do so at the link above), but in short, Research And Markets have compiled a study observing the evolving global motorcycle industry, its competitive landscape, and the corporate and marketing strategies adopted by the motorcycle companies as some of the factors to have remarkably impacted the global motorcycle industry dynamics. Developing regions, such as Asia and Latin America, which perceive two-wheelers as a basic mode of transportation, are expected to remain the most promising markets for scooters, light motorcycles, and mopeds.

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

Yamaha is bringing two new electric motorcycle prototypes to the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show: the PES1 streetbike and the PED1 dirt bike. The nomenclature is a combination of the initials for Passion, Electric and Street for the street version and Dirt for the off-road model. Both prototypes are equipped with DC brushless electric motors powered by lithium-ion batteries.

Max Biaggi loses the plot . . and very nearly his teeth !

Tue, 29 Mar 2011

I’ve just got back from Donington Park and the second round of the World Superbike championship. The racing was exciting, going off without a hitch, and the weather was unseasonably kind, but the meeting will be remembered by those in the fairly close knit WSB paddock for reasons other than the temperature or the race results. It’ll be remembered by most, especially those who witnessed it, as the meeting where Max Biaggi finally lost his already feeble grip on reality.
