Yamaha YZ description
1978 Yamaha YZ 250 Here's the story: My friend Ivan rescued this bike from a garage fire about 4 years ago. When he took it home, it wouldn't run and he had given up on it after a couple months. I came to look at it and saved it from turning into scrap metal. It was a basket case. (YOU CAN SEE A PHOTO OF WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE WHEN I BOUGHT IT AT THE END OF THE PHOTO ALBUM) Upon inspection I saw that it was missing some important pieces. Idle mixture screw, fuel hose, throttle cable was stuck. Removed the head and cylinder, everything seemed to be in good condition. Clutch was great and it went through all the gears. I cleaned the carb, repaired the intake boot, sprayed some started fluid, and she FIRED UP! I decided to go through and pour my heart into this bike and give it some much needed love. (it consequently drained my wallet in the process) Parts purchased: Like new gas tank Tank decals Refurbished seat Seat pan Side covers (kinda cracked) Rear fender (used) Shift lever Throttle cable Clutch cable I tore the bike down to bare frame. Gave her a good scrub. Painted with Chasis Black 250 degree weathered paint. The head and exhaust were painted with a ceramic 2,000 degree coat. Aesthetically, she looks ok. Not show quality, but a great runner. I probably spent around 100 hours on this project. It has been sitting in the garage for a couple years now and wanted people to hear of her story. I ride it occasionally. Perhaps someone can take her to the next level and give her a good home. She truly is BULLET PROOF. Feel free to message me with any other questions. Extra gas tank and new rear tire included. Deposit of $500 required within 24 hours. Full payment due in 3 days. Buyer arranges pickup or delivery. I can store the bike for a short time, but please no longer than 12 business days. |

How To Rebuild a Yamaha R6 In Under A Minute + Video
Mon, 30 Jun 2014If you’re new to the road racing scene, you might have heard the terms “Factory” and “Privateer.” For the casual observer, you’ll notice the difference between the two ultimately comes down to money and support, as one is likely working out of the back of their van while the other is supported by an 18-wheeler. This video, shot by the Y.E.S./Monster Energy/Graves/Yamaha team makes the line between the two sides clear as day. Watch as the Yamaha crew rebuilds Garrett Gerloff’s R6 from the frame up after a nasty crash with enough time to make the race.
