Yamaha XT description

As a kid, I always dreamed of owning an XT 500, so when I saw this beautiful bike for sale on eBay, I decided to go for it. I rode the bike for a few hundred miles this summer and scratched that itch, so now I'm going to sell it for someone else to enjoy.

I bought this bike exactly as you see it here on eBay last Spring. The previous owner told me he completely restored it and it looks like it. While he didn't provide me with any receipts of the restoration, you can clearly see that this bike is just about as close to "like new" condition that a 35 year old bike can be.

I put about 200 miles on the bike this summer, and they have all been trouble free. Bike starts in 1-2 kicks every time and purrs like a kitten. Careful though, that's a 500 thumper and will easily lift the front wheel if you aren't ready for it.

This bike will make a great daily commuter, trail rider or just to add to the collection. Everything works as it should. Tires are virtually brand new.

Bike had one small dent in the otherwise pristine tank (seen in pictures) and a light scuff on the right side number panel that I did when throwing a leg over it. Bike is missing the small tool box and has a Supertrapp muffler. Bike is showing 3,600 miles but who really knows with these old dirt bikes.

My reserve is well below the price I paid for it earlier this Spring.

Winning bidder agrees to pay non refundable $1,000 deposit with 48 hours of auction close and remaining balance within 7 days of auction close. Buyer will pay for any needed shipping costs but I will do my best to facilitate however I can. Good luck bidding.

Yamaha Applies for R3 Trademark in US

Wed, 22 Jan 2014

Last week, we broke the news that Yamaha had filed a trademark application for the European Union for the use of “YZF-R3” and “R3“. We can now confirm that Yamaha has filed a similar trademark application for “R3″ with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, a strong indication that Yamaha intends to offer the motorcycle in the U.S. Visit the Yamaha R3 Forum The USPTO filing (registration #86160385)  is dated Jan.

You. Call. That. Lean

Fri, 14 May 2010

Jean Philippe Ruggia, 1988, Coppice at Donington Park, Sonauto-Yamaha 250. This is elbow lean action. There was a previous blog entry of Ben Spies and his elbow grazing the tarmac onboard the M1 Yamaha, I admit it is impressive but I find myself admiring the horizontal angles that Ruggia submitted his 250 Yamaha to, with the above image taken at Coppice as a prime example.
