1981 Yamaha XS (1981)
***1981 Yamaha XS1100 Midnight Special (1 of only 250 ever made!)*** Fall Special-Low reserve! For sale is this awesome Yamaha XS 1100 Midnight Special. If you are unaware of how rare these actually are, you should probably do some research before you bid. This is one of only 500 ever, and one of only 250 for 1981! Not only one of the rarest production Yamahas ever, one of the rarest production early Super-bikes as well---EVER!!! Based on the company's big XS1100 sport-tourer introduced in the late 1970s, the 1981 Yamaha 1100 Midnight Special motorcycle differs from other Super-Bikes of the era in having a traditional Japanese inline four-cylinder engine rather than the trendy V-twin. It also featured shaft drive, likewise carried over from the XS. While an extended fork, teardrop tank, and stepped saddle made it clear this was a cruiser, the double-overhead-cam four-cylinder engine gave it powerful performance unmatched by contemporary V-twins. 95 BHP and a blistering 112 MPH quarter mile time!2016-11-15 04:47:09Parrottsville, Tennessee, United States125700

1975 Yamaha XS (1975)
Yamaha XS650B 1975 For Sale, No Reserve! A true motorcycling classic with probably one of the best parallel twins ever made. This is a beautiful, low-mileage, great running, garage kept 1975 Yamaha XS650. Bike cranks and runs great. Has electric starter that works, though I rarely used it as it kick starts easily. Replaced the carb in 2015 so it is basically brand new. All electronics work fine. The seat is original and in great condition; there are no rips or tears. Obviously given its age there are some very light scratches here and there but extremely few given the age, and bottom line is that everything works as it should, it's quick and handles great.2016-07-18 04:55:10Powder Springs, Georgia, United States97900

1980 Yamaha XS (1980)
This is a Yamaha XS 650 special which has been lightly customized with low bars, bar end mirrors, fork boots, Harley style mufflers, and a unique seat cowl. The bike has a clear PA title signed by the previous owner. I noticed that while the mileage on the title states 28000 the mileage on the speedometer is 23500. The bike started easily on fresh gas and idled and accelerated smoothly on a 10 mile test drive. I did not exceed 65 mph as the tires are dry and have sidewall cracks, but the bike seemed to have plenty more speed on tap. All gears shifted well and all lights and instruments work. The mufflers are not as loud as they look and bike has a deep mellow tone. The engine does not make any unusual noises. The brakes felt a little spongy and probably need some attention. There is a dent in the tachometer housing (see picture.) There is a deep scratch on the top of the front fender but is is hard to see (see picture.) There are small tears at the front lower corners of the seat cover that have been sewn up (see picture.)2016-11-02 04:41:00Severna Park, Maryland, United States231,800.00

2022 Yamaha MT-10 SP Review - First Ride
Fri, 18 Nov 2022The MT-10 steps it up with some help from Öhlins. Credit: Photos by Joseph Agustin | Videos by Ray Gouger, Justin Brayton Let the record show that, despite my best efforts, Yamaha’s MT-10 was not included in either the street or track portions of our mega seven-way open-class naked bike shootouts last year. I fought for its inclusion but was ultimately denied by the Bossman who wrote it off by saying our field was big enough and it wasn’t going to win anyway.
2023 Yamaha Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT First Look
Mon, 07 Nov 2022A 5-inch TFT, bigger brakes, revised forks, 20-liter saddlebags, and comfort items highlight the changes. This just in from Yamaha Europe, whether this applies Stateside remains to be seen: The Yamaha Tracer 7 at the Yamaha booth during EICMA 2022. 2023 Yamaha Tracer 9 GT and Tracer 9 GT+ First Look
Mon, 07 Nov 2022For 2023, Yamaha has gone crazy with the tech on the new Tracer 9 GT+. For 2023, Yamaha has gone crazy with the new Tracer 9 GT+ and thrown every bit of technology it could think of at the bike. Now sitting atop Yamaha’s sport-touring mountain as the flagship for the brand – taking the place of the dearly departed FJR1300, which has been out of production for a few years – the Tracer 9 GT+, with its multitude of electronic rider aids, will help make the sport-touring experience as stress-free as possible.
2023 Yamaha Niken GT First Look
Mon, 07 Nov 2022Bigger engine, new saddlebags, and updated electronics This just in from Yamaha Europe, whether this applies Stateside remains to be seen: For 2023, Yamaha has updated the Niken in just about every area of the bike. The high points include the engine, TFT functionality, and suspension. Since the company considers the Niken to be “one of Yamaha’s most sophisticated Sport Tourers,” the emphasis on improving the quality of the rider’s experience should come as no surprise.
2023 Yamaha Tenere 700 First Look
Wed, 02 Nov 2022Minor updates announced for Europe Yamaha Motor Europe announced updates to the Ténéré 700, giving the middleweight ADV bike a TFT display, smartphone connectivity, a new ABS mode and other small updates. As of this writing, the 2023 Ténéré 700 has not been announced for the U.S., though we expect to receive official news soon. The Ténéré 700 Rally Edition variant offered in Europe (pictured below with the Heritage White livery) also received the same updates, but we don’t expect that it will be offered on these shores.
Yamaha Trademarks Logos for YZF-R9
Thu, 27 Oct 2022Signs point to an EICMA announcement Ever since we first uncovered evidence of a YZF-R7 based on the MT-07, people started to ask when Yamaha would do the same to the MT-09 and release an YZF-R9 sportbike using the same 890cc Crossplane Triple. The questions picked up a few months later when we dug up trademark filings for a whole range of model names from an R2 to an R9. With the 2023 model launch season in full swing, and EICMA less than two weeks away, we’ve got more fuel for the old rumor engine with two new Yamaha filings, this time for figurative trademarks for “R9” and “YZF-R9.” The trademarks were filed Oct.
Ask MO Anything: Should I Buy a New 2022 Yamaha MT-10?
Thu, 06 Oct 2022Is this a trick question? Dear MOby, Thank God I’m in the enviable position of having a wife that gave me the OK to get whatever bike I want, after selling off all my old ones about seven years ago. So, here’s my parameters: After test riding a ton of stuff, I’ve decided I want a (bigger) naked bike, and in first place is the 2022 Yamaha MT-10.
Yamaha's Coming Out With a Race-Spec R1 In 2023
Tue, 06 Sep 2022But there's a catch: It's only available in Europe. At least for now. In a move further supporting my argument that R1s are purpose-built racebikes with lights and mirrors to make them legal on the roads, for 2023 Yamaha is introducing the R1 GYTR – an R1 prepared specifically for track duty, without any of the homologation pieces for roadworthiness (don’t worry, the standard R1 isn’t going anywhere).
Showdown: 2022 Aprilia Tuareg 660 Vs. Yamaha Tenere 700
Thu, 25 Aug 2022Middleweight adventure bikes duke it out on a 2,000 mile tour Credit: Photos by Evans Brasfield | Videos by Sean Matic As we motored slaunchways across Utah, the late daylight stretched our shadows and cast golden hues against the tall canyon walls, further accentuating the contrast between the rust colored ancient seabeds peppered with lush green juniper and muted sage. The lavender sky over Bryce faded as we continued westward on Hwy 12. Refusing to pack a second visor for my Shoei Hornet X2, I lifted the dark smoke shield as I led our crew into the dark dense forest, keeping my line of sight just above the Ténéré’s windscreen in an attempt to protect my peepers from the onslaught of kamikaze insects.
2022 Yamaha MT-10 Review - First Ride
Mon, 15 Aug 2022It's the King of the Masters of Torque Credit: Photos by Joe Augustin Heaping praise upon Yamaha’s naked bikes has become all too easy lately. Yes, the MT-07 did get dethroned in last year’s Middleweight Naked comparison, but not by much – and it took brand-new motorcycles from Aprilia and Triumph to do it. When it came time for the 900cc(ish) Nakeds last August, the newly revamped MT-09 surprised a couple people by taking the cake against KTM Duke 890 and five other very nice and mostly more expensive motorcycles.
