Yamaha XS description

1981 Yamaha XS650 Street Tracker, Gene Romero tribute, no expense spared, AHRMA

Listing for a senior friend of mine who is not an Ebayer. A dirt tracker that is fully street legal !

He built it over a number of years and it was a labor of love for a Gene Romero fan (see final pic for Gene's track bike).

Clean IL title in hand. Many parts from Omar's Dirt Tracking. There is a little under $11,000 in this build.

This bike always draws a crowd at bike rallies / shows and has been in several national magazines.

Here are WAY more pics than Ebay will allow me (and higher resolution):

Electric start and kicker (Bendix upgrade has been done)

Omar's "1/2 Mile" ceramic coated (inside) pipes give it a nice burble at idle and nasty growl under power

Yamaha wheels built from the hubs out with new spokes and polished hubs

Brembo caliper on the front with stainless line, new brake master cylinder

Dunlop K180 dirt track tires, like new

Buss fuse panel with blade type fuses

No gauges but has all running lights, mini GSXR turn signals, horn, neutral light

Mechanical

Starts easily and idles easily

All electrics work as they should

Rides well, excellent power and smooth shifting, braking

Tires like new, still have nubs on them

Starter gears have the rebuild kit but getting a little intermittent and crunchy (like every XS ever), I just kick start it.

Has a few minor oil leaks when it sits

That said I have the kit to fix the starter gear and all the gaskets for the oil leak (provided to buyer)

Battery good, always on a tender (located under seat with a tender lead)

Fork seals and springs, swingarm and steering head bearings all new

Brammo Earns Seventh Place Against Gas Bikes

Mon, 06 May 2013

This past weekend, Brammo arrived to Sonoma Raceway in Central California ready to do battle. Only this time the electric sportbike manufacturer would be trading blows not with other electric bikes, but with their ICE counterparts at the second round of the American Federation of Motorcyclists series — one of the oldest club racing organizations in the country. We recently mentioned Brammo’s eligibility with AFM, and this weekend was the first outing. Team Icon Brammo and its two riders Eric Bostrom and Steve Atlas competed on the Empulse RR machines while third rider, Shelina Moreda, rode the Team Parker Brammo Empulse TTX — a modified version of the road-legal Empulse.

2012 Yamaha XT250 and TW200 Dual Sports Announced

Wed, 08 Jun 2011

Yamaha unveiled a pair of 2012 dual sport models, the Yamaha XT250 and the Yamaha TW200. Both the 2012 Yamaha XT250 and TW200 remain unchanged from the 2011 versions except for a new white and blue color scheme and white front fenders instead of last year’s black fenders. The XT250 is powered by an air-cooled 249cc four-stroke engine with a 33mm carburetor.
