Yamaha XS description

You are bidding on a completely stock classic 1980 Yamaha XS 1100. The bike boasts an inline-four, shaft-drive configuration, 1100cc motor with only 18,500 original miles. Bike also features triple disc brakes. Brakes work good, but front ones may need to be bled. Mechanically, bike runs very good but could use a carb adjustment to peak its performance. The electrical system works fine on the bike. A new battery, hand grips, air filter, and gas line with inline gas filters have been recently added to the bike. Cosmetically bike is in Very Nice shape. The chrome on the body and exhaust are in very good condition. The paint is also in very nice condition. There are no dents in the gas tank at all. The tires have a lot of tread left on them, but have started to show signs of dry rotting. The seat is also showing some splits at a couple of the seams. This is a smooth riding bike which can be road worthy with little effort or expense. Bike would also make a wonderful addition to any collection or with minimal work to bring the bike back to the Japanese Superbike she once was. Bidding starts at $300 with NO RESERVE. A $300 Non-Refundable deposit must be paid via PayPal within 24 hours of auction end. Remaining balance is due within 7 Days of auction end and must be paid in cash upon pickup or before pickup VIA PayPal. Shipping is available at buyer’s expense or you can pick bike up locally. Bidding is open to US Bidders only. Bidders with a 0 rating, please contact us prior to placing your bid. AMA Superbike Racer Larry Pegram To Race On Four Wheels This Weekend

Thu, 08 Aug 2013

Foremost Insurance/Pegram Racing SuperBike rider Larry Pegram will be back in racing action this weekend but, instead of being aboard his familiar #72 Yamaha YZF-R1 SuperBike, Larry will be behind the wheel of a PRO Buggy sponsored by RealTree Outdoor Energy Drink. The PRO Buggy class features rear-engine, rear-wheel-drive, purpose-built racing buggies with lots of suspension travel and lots of horsepower. Pegram is no stranger to car racing, having done a few road racing events last year, but he’s excited about the opportunity to kick up some mud this weekend at RedBud MX in Buchanan, MI, as part of The Off-Road Championship (TORC) series.

Recall for 2009-2011 Yamaha V-Max

Fri, 30 Sep 2011

Yamaha is issuing a recall campaign on certain 2009-2011 V-Max power cruisers due to a potential risk of oil pump malfunction. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, abnormally high oil pressure can build up within the oil pump of certain Yamaha V-Max models. The high pressure may force the washer on the oil pump shaft against the oil pump housing, causing oil to stop pumping through the engine.
