Yamaha XS description

                                                                         1972 Yamaha XS650

1972 Yamaha XS650 .    Vintage time capsule.     V.I.N.  S650-122291  Manufacture Date Tag:  3/72  This bike is a survivor.  I have ridden the bike and it rides good.  It brakes well and seems to handle as it should.
Original paint, chrome, handlebars, seat, gauges, fenders, everything except the slip on mufflers are an aftermarket muffler and they function well.  It starts and runs good, shifts, brakes and the lights work too. The carbs were recently cleaned and the bike was tuned up, valves set, timing etc.... The mufflers are aftermarket and function nicely. The tires are good and the gauges work.  Rims and spokes are original and very solid with just a few small rust spots.  The fuel tank has some exterior oxidation as is evident on the lower right side,  however, the tank is very solid and the rust is only surface rust. Chain and sprockets are good and function well.  There are 3 small rips in the seat cover.   It does have new air filters as well.  This is not a perfect restored bike as you can see.  But, it is an original time capsule.  Bid to win!!! Thank you very much for your interest in my bike and good luck to all.   Please feel free to ask any questions about the bike and I will be happy to do my best to answer them.
PAYMENT TERMS: You must have an active Pay Pal account that is linked to your email address.  Please send me your email address as soon as the auction ends so I can send you a Pay Pal Invoice to pay for the bike.  Payment to be made upon your receipt of my Pay Pal Invoice after the sale ends.  Please have your funds ready in your Pay Pal account.  Thank you.  If this does not work for you,  then please message me prior to bidding.

SHIPPING:  You make your own shipping arrangements and pay for your own shipping, or, pick the bike up in person.  I can store it for you for up to 60 days maximum if that helps but after 60 days, I will have to charge storage fees of  $5 per day.  I just don't have room to store motorcycles.

Yamaha R1 rider lowsides on left-hander

Tue, 23 Mar 2010

THIS GUY'S lucky he doesn't get flicked over the top, after losing the back end of his Yamaha YZF-R1 on a twisty section of mountain road. He looks pretty miffed at the result; we think he got away lightly. It could have been soooo much worse if the rear tyre had gripped and lobbed the rider over the top.

2010 Yamaha YZ450F Rumors [video]

Tue, 01 Sep 2009

In the world of motocross, this year’s most highly anticipated machine is Yamaha’s all-new YZ450F. All kinds of crazy rumors about the bike have spread across the internet, and there’s some real doozies out there. In this video from Yamaha, multi-time motocross and supercross champ James Stewart debunks some of the crazier rumors, with special guest appearances by Valentino Rossi, Ben Spies, Colin Edwards, James Toseland, Jorge Lorenzo and TV personality Erin Bates.

Old boys up front and where are the new 600 Gixers?

Mon, 28 Feb 2011

As I’ve been gagging for the new race season to kick off so it was almost a pleasure getting up at stupid 0 clock to watch the World Superbike Championship  opener at Phillip Island last weekend. I have to say Messrs Burnicle and Whitham were on form although I was disappointed there were none of the usual verbal attacks on each other that always add to the entertainment.    I’m sure they will put things right soon but the world superbike regulars must have been disheartened that Moto GP veterans nailed five of the six available rostrum slots.
