Yamaha Virago description

For sale is my 1982 Yamaha Virago cafe racer. I built this for myself, but some personal issues have come up and now the bike is for sale. It runs great, and has recently had the engine swapped from a 1982 XV750 to a 1992 XV1100; hence why it is listed as a 1982 XV1100 (even though they don't exist.)

Customization include:
  • PWK 32MM Carburetors
  • High-Compression XV1100 Engine (920 heads)
  • Dime City Cycles headlight
  • Hand built subframe from cold rolled steel tubing.
  • Lithium-ion battery.
  • XV1100 Front forks.
  • Rear-to-front wheel conversion (15 inch rims)
  • Tires have only 1000 miles on them.
  • Benelli Mojave Chrome tank
  • Vintage Italian petcocks and gas cap.
  • MotoLanna seat.
  • Digital speedometer/tachometer
  • Bar end mirrors
  • Clip-on handlebars
  • LED brake and tail lights
  • Custom VF500 rearsets and handmade linkages.

I encourage and am happy to arrange inspections. Please call 575.496.7986. Videos if it running and/or riding can be provided if requested.

- Honda Motor Company Limited - Yamaha Motor Company Limited - Hero MotoCorp Limited - Bajaj Auto Limited - Harley–Davidson Incorporation According to Research And Markets, who bill themselves as “The World’s Largest Market Research Store,” these are the top five companies of the global motorcycle industry, with data collected from 2006 – 2011. The study itself is several chapters deep and must be purchased (you can do so at the link above), but in short, Research And Markets have compiled a study observing the evolving global motorcycle industry, its competitive landscape, and the corporate and marketing strategies adopted by the motorcycle companies as some of the factors to have remarkably impacted the global motorcycle industry dynamics. Developing regions, such as Asia and Latin America, which perceive two-wheelers as a basic mode of transportation, are expected to remain the most promising markets for scooters, light motorcycles, and mopeds.
