New Delhi Auto Expo 2012 – Motorcycle Manufacturers Draw Battle Lines for World’s Second Largest Market

In past years, the biennial Auto Expo in India slipped under the radar while the industry was focused more on shows such as EICMA in Italy and Intermot in Germany. But with India’s middle class starting to flex its financial muscle while other markets continue to struggle, the New Delhi show is becoming much more prominent, with major OEMs positioning themselves to claim a piece of the India’s 13 million vehicles-a-year market. Ex-racer Ben Bostrum might have stopped competing on motorcycles, but he hasn't given up his passion for two wheels. He's teamed up with motorsports promoter M1 to create Ben Bostrom Events, a company that plans to host world-class cycling and running races across the US. According to a press release, the high-intensity events will feature an 'entertainment-filled atmosphere', combining many of the familiar elements found at other MOB (mud, obstacles, beer) racing events.

Yamaha Customer Information Leaked – Personal Data for 607 Japanese Customers Compromised

Yamaha has confirmed the personal information of 607 customers in Japan was leaked to a third party. According to Yamaha, personal information for recall and product improvement measures was leaked byYamaha Motorcycle Sales Japan Co., the manufacturer’s domestic group company. The information including names, mailing addresses, vehicle names and VIN, and dealership information for 607 customer accounts in the Aichi, Fukuoka and Kagoshima prefectures were received by an anonymous third party via fax on Nov.
