For sale is a 2001 Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic cruiser.
I'll start with the low points. The bike has been dropped a few times and is scratched and dented as a result, the low price reflects this. She still runs and drives fine. Would make a great first bike for someone to learn on since its already well broken in and doesn't have enough engine to jump out from under ya. Bike has around 22,500 miles on it as I am still riding it some to keep her fit. Now the good. As you can see from the pictures the bike has a windshield, bags, and forward controls. In the past 2 years the bike has got new tires (still 2/3 treed) a windshield bag and a mustang seat for the driver and passenger. The battery was replaced 2 years ago and has been on a maintainer. The bike starts right up every time. The carburetors have also been rejeted. The bike gets in the upper 40s mpg on back roads (bout 38 on the interstate). It is pretty loud, the baffles in the exhaust have been drilled out resulting in a good sound cursing and idling but some backfiring when slowing down and are pretty loud at higher rpms. So it's a bit bruised, and loud but it's a comfortable smaller cruiser that's at home on the back roads and would make a great cheap starter bike for someone. Comes with 2 keys, tool kit, and the manual. Tommy Hayden to Race 2012 Daytona 200 for Graves Yamaha – Video
Fri, 16 Mar 2012Tommy Hayden has signed on to race in the 2012 Daytona 200 for the Graves Yamaha team as an replacement for injured rider Garrett Gerloff. Gerloff broke his right femur in the first Daytona Sportbike class practice session for the Daytona 200, leaving Yamaha little time to find a replacement. Hayden had raced for Yamaha before, and those old ties reconnected quickly in time for the season opening race.
