Yamaha V Max description
Up for auction is my 2009 Gen II Star Yamaha V Max. You are looking at a culmination of a very special motorcycle project that took 6 months to complete. The bike graced the cover and the build was documented in Bikes & Beauties magazine in Jan 2012, a copy of the magazine will be furnished to the winning bidder. It is Dyno tuned to perfection and as such a brutally fast motorcycle putting down 187hp/118 ft lbs torque “to the rear wheels”!! The ground trembles when the bike is started and the symphony of noises produced when the bikes slows through deceleration below 4,000 rpm can only be described as intoxicating. OFF THE CHART!!! The clutchless full throttle shifts are simply mind blowing. The bike is all black powdercoated with a “murdered out” look and in absolute pristine condition, fully detailed as close to new as possible with no marks or scratches of distinction on it. The original black paint lights up in the sunlight and actually has very subtle micro cherry red metallic particles suspended in it. All 93xx miles to date have been pampered and fanatically maintained. Bike has never been abused, down or raced. Always garaged. Fully serviced with all recalls completed by Yamaha. Tires are excellent and have approx 1700 miles on them. If you want the very best Gen II V Max cruiser, this is THE one. Turn key reliable and starts every time. Almost $29k spent to produce. Collector quality. Clear title in hand. Call or text with any questions 516 526 5614 - Good luck bidding. Item is for sale locally as well. Mileage may rise slighly during auction as i still ride it. Recall for 2011 Yamaha FJR1300
Mon, 11 Jul 2011Yamaha is initiating a recall campaign the 2011 FJR1300, just a week after a separate recall for the 2006-2009 versions of the sport touring motorcycle. Like the earlier campaign, the recall for the 2011 Yamaha FJR1300 is for an electrical issue, this time for the brake lights. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, brake light on affected units may not illuminate when the front brake lever is applied because the activating mechanism in the brake switch can bind.
R1 noise, bike porn and a quick lap
Tue, 24 Apr 2012Trawling the internet for a sound clip of the Crossplane Crank Yamaha R1 on full chatter, I came across this: a few fast laps on board with New Zealand Superbike racer Tony Rees as he works the CABS Throttle Blipper on his 2011 R1. (Skip to 7:35 for the fast ones.) CABS is a system used by Superbike teams that makes use of the R1’s digitally controlled throttle. When you change up a gear, the bike blips in the perfect amount of revs to save time on track and make downshifts as quick and easy as clutch-less upshifts.
Yamaha will give a third wheel to its scooter
Sun, 05 May 2019The Japanese did not have enough unusual Niken bikes so they patented the design of a new 3-wheeler scooter. The device will probably be called the Tricity 300 and will presumably be powered by a 292cc engine from the 28hp XMax 300 maxi-scooter. We're looking forward to the debut of the production version at the end of the year at EICMA.
