Up for auction is a very nice and UNrestored original 1978 Yamaha TT500. Not perfect, but really close. The VINs on the engine and front steering stem MATCH. Fri, 17 Jan 2014Yamaha’s official MotoGP outfit unveiled the team’s official 2014 livery in front of a packed audience in Jakarta, Indonesia. The team’s two factory riders, Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi, were on hand to proudly showcase their YZF-M1 motorcycles. As expected, blue, Yamaha’s factory color, plays a major role in the color scheme, but unlike last year where it was the dominant color, it is equally offset by contrasting white swaths on the upper fairing, fuel tank, and throughout the lower fairing.

Thu, 16 Jan 2014In preparation for Anaheim 2, round 3 of the AMA Supercross championship, a few Yamaha teams are embracing the past for team colors. The CycleTrader.com Rock River Yamaha team is going back to Yamaha’s corporate roots with a White and Red themed look that could be found on YZs in the latter half of the 1980s and into the 90s. This color scheme also graced the prototype YZ400F Doug Henry rode into the history books with his win at the 1997 Las Vegas Supercross.
Day 11 Dakar 2014: Coma Wins, Extends Overall Lead
Thu, 16 Jan 2014Day 11 marked the longest stage to date of the Dakar Rally, as the competitors tackled the 605km (376 miles) special stage, covering a variety of terrain, hard ground, mountains, plus 120km (75 miles) of sand and dunes in the Copiapo area. Despite this, and a fall at the beginning of the stage, Marc Coma again demonstrated his status as boss of the Dakar 2014, by picking up his third victory of the year, further reinforcing his position at the top of the general standings. Five-time Dakar winner Cyril Depres opened the piste for 400km before dropping slightly to finish just 02:31 behind Marc Coma in first.
