Day 3 Dakar 2014: Barreda Maintains Overall Lead, Despres Catches Up

Joan Barreda won his second special stage this year and now boasts a lead of more than 13 minutes over Cyril Despres and Marc Coma, the two other beneficiaries of a particularly decisive stage. Today’s stage, part one of the first marathon stage with no team service, was characterized by the highest ever racing altitude in Dakar history. Facing the 22,841 foot summit of the Aconcagua, South America´s highest mountain, the motorcycle riders had to cross a pass over 14,107 feet in elevation in trial-like conditions.

More Leaning Multi-Wheel Vehicles to Follow Yamaha Tricity + Video

Yamaha re-iterated plans it will produce more Leaning-Multi-Wheel vehicles during the official Japanese launch event for the three-wheeled Tricity scooter. Yamaha had previously announced the Tricity would be just the first in a new series of vehicles during the scooter’s launch in Thailand, but the company has now revealed how they will differ from each other. Yamaha Teases New Naked Model for EICMA – Video

Earlier this year, Yamaha started a teaser campaign called “Dark Side of Japan” that culminated in the introduction this summer of the FZ-09 naked Triple (also known as the MT-09 in other markets). It’s now fall, but apparently Yamaha has more hiding in the Dark Side, in another new naked motorcycle. Yamaha has released another new teaser video called “Rise Up” for a new model to be unveiled Nov.
