Yamaha TT description
This TT500 belonged to a friend for many years. It was used in the 80's to ride to the trail heads of every 14ner in Colorado. At that time lights and mirrors were added and it was titled to make it street legal.Lights are not hooked up at this time.
After all 14ner were conquered it was parked in a shed. I bought the bike a few years ago to get it running and use on local trails. After changing the oil and cleaning the carburetor I eventually figured out how to properly start this beast. It never smoked. Riding it up the street and doing an involuntary "Wheelie" I decided that this is not for me. Last week I cleaned the carburetor again and started it. Some research showed me that this is the 152nd TT500 ever build, and I would guess that most of them were either wrecked or are by now scrapped. The value of this bike lies in its extremely low serial number and the original low exhaust. The original tank and exhaust end piece "disappeared" while parked. Please look closely at all pictures ! The numbers on engine and frame match, I have a Colorado title in my name. This bike deserves to be expertly restored. |

No snow here folks!
Fri, 31 Dec 2010An erratic work schedule combined with a full season of kids racing means, there aren’t many opportunities during the summer months for the Mackenzie family to grab a holiday. Instead, we tend to save our pennies and head off somewhere sunny for Christmas. I love doing this as it shortens the UK winter but more importantly it means I miss the festive frenzy. I do like Christmas, but I hate how everyone gets caught up in the retail madness that kicks off just before Halloween, then has everyone stressed (and skint)before Santa has even hitched up his sleigh.
