1978 Yamaha Sr500 on 2040-motos
Yamaha SR500 tech info
Yamaha SR500 description
Engine is stock, except the carburetor, a mechanical slide instead of that thing with the "accelerator pump diaphram", the pipe is stainless; a true Thruxton bend for those of us who actually know the difference, and a K&N air filter.
The cam chain was recently replaced and it was noted that the piston was a first over (which make actual mileage of the engine hard to know). The frame has been modified with limited steering lock, and cut at the rear to accommodate the Matchless G50 replica seat, the rest is stock. Clip-ons are Tomaselli, headlight is stock, with Omega Racer Gold Star replica mounts, tail light and reverse cone megaphone are EMGO products, the rear hub is from an XT500. The front brake master cylinder is Nissin/Kawasaki with a black stainless line that negated the brake light switch junction block. Tires are Dunlops (700 mi.), Spokes are stainless and laced to alloy rims. Engine starts easily and runs perfectly, 5 speed transmission is flawless, clutch was refreshed (fiber and steel plates) at 15,000 mi. Comes with two keys and a handful of parts. It was designed as a blank pallet incorporating the fundamental cafe fitment; seat, pipe, tank, bars, and pegs the rest is up to you |
