Yamaha Royal Star description

This beautiful bike has every feature you ever would want on a luxury cruiser bike. Once you sit in those pillow top seats and lean back into that drivers back rest you and your passenger feel like you are in your lazy boy recliner. Can ride all day and not be tired or sore. Stretch your legs using the front riding pegs on those long rides. You have cruise control for those long rides, am/fm cassette stereo radio for the music to go and even a plug in for your iPod for your own stored music. You can stay in touch with traffic with the use of the cb radio, and even tie your helmet head sets into the bike to hear everything thru the head set and talk on the cb or with your riding partner with the built in mic. The bike does well on fuel and the 6 gallon tank allows you to cover some miles between fill ups. I'm big on lights on any motorcycle, this one has the head light with hi and low beam and front driving lights. In the rear you have tail lights, turn signal and running lights that wrap around the side bags that are built into the rear side crash bars. There is a rear spoiler on the rear trunk that also has bright led lighting in it as well. They will never say they didn't see you, day or night. There is plenty of storage with 2 side trunks and 1 rear center trunk with a luggage rack. The full windshield keeps the bugs off of you during the summer and the cold air off of you in the fall. The 1294 cc liquid cooled engine and 5 speed transmission has more than enough power to get you down the road. If you like chrome, there is just enough to set this bike off. There is still plenty of rubber on the tires, and the battery is brand new this spring. The exhaust is running BUB mufflers to give the bike a good sound and make it noticeable when in traffic. It is the right amount of rumble without being obnoxious. You can lock your helmets to the external helmet holders. Also  a tube of touch up paint and a full bike cover to protect the bike when parked outside and a service manual and 2 full helmets with mics and built in speakers, and 2 half helmets for the summer with built in drop down sun visors comes with the bike. This bike has only been garaged kept by myself and the original owner. Has been welled maintained and all services have been done at Yamaha dealers. This bike has a lot of life still in it, just needs someone that has the time to ride it. The only reason I'm selling it is not having the time to use it. The bike is being sold as is, there are no warranties or factory warranty on this bike. I have the right to take this bike off eBay listing at any time, It is listed locally and also in a lot.  The mileage may go up slightly since I'm riding it when the opportunity lets me. The horrendous reality of restoring a 'classic'

Tue, 31 Aug 2010

It was with much excitement – displaced or not – that my freshly rebuilt 1976 SR500 Yamaha fired into life at the second kick this weekend. I say second kick. It was actually the thirty second kick – thirty of those spent frothing up a heady sweat until I realised the main fuel pipe was kinked to buggery.
