Yamaha Road Star tech info
Yamaha Road Star description
2003 Yamaha Road Star Warrior, prefect local bike - We know what you're thinking. Is the Warrior a cruiser or a sportbike? The answer is yes. Yes, that's a pushrod, air-cooled, fuel injected, 102 cubic inch (1670cc) V-twin -- that'll blow your socks clean off. And yes, that's a lightweight aluminum frame with a 41mm inverted fork, monoblock brake calipers and sticky performance tires on three-spoke alloy wheels supporting this welterweight Road Star. You'll appreciate the Warrior's superior power-to-weight ratio when you dump the clutch and that 200-section rear tire hooks up. We're talkin' bout a revolution here. The sound and fury of the gnarliest twin we've ever built is housed in a vessel designed to stop and turn like a sportbike. Can you guess why the Warrior was Motorcyclist Magazine's Cruiser of the Year for `02 ? Simply put, "It stops and turns and soaks up the bumps better than anything else in cruiserdom." Total performance. Does anybody make chaps with knee sliders?

Yamaha Champions Riding School Returns To NJMP
Fri, 24 Jan 2014Good news for those saddened to hear the Yamaha Champions Riding School would not return to Miller Motorsports Park in 2014: the school is back, now operating from New Jersey Motorsports Park. The change in venue doesn’t come without a slight change in the instructor lineup. Nick Ienatsch and Ken Hill will still lead the way, joined by Mr. Daytona himself, Scott Russell, but a new addition to the star-studded instructor lineup has also been added: none other than Larry Pegram.
Team Hammer Releases Martin Cardenas
Fri, 04 Jan 2013AMA Pro Racing’s Team Hammer has released Martin Cardenas from his contract to allow the reigning AMA Daytona Sportbike Champion “to better pursue his goal of returning to World Championship competition as soon as possible.” Though the eventual goal appears to be for Cardenas to move up to the World Superbike Championship, rumors have Cardenas landing with the Yoshimura Suzuki factory team to race in the AMA Superbike Championship in 2013 as an eventual stepping stone towards international racing. Cardenas won the 2010 and 2012 AMA Daytona Sportbike championships with Team Hammer riding a Suzuki GSX-R600. Team Hammer held a contract option for Cardenas for the 2013 season but decided to release the Colombian racer, allowing him to take a different route towards a WSBK career.
Yamaha to Produce PES1 and PED1 Electric Motorcycles by 2016
Mon, 21 Apr 2014Yamaha announced plans to release the production versions of its PES1 and PED1 concept models within two years as part of the company’s plans to enter the electric motorcycle segment. The PES1 and PED1 (which stands for “Passion, Electric, Street” and “Passion, Electric, Dirt”) concepts were first revealed at last November’s Tokyo Motor Show. In the company’s newly-published annual report, Yamaha confirmed plans to produce the two models, saying: “In sports motorcycles, we are working to create new value with EV sports motorcycles, which we aim to launch in two years, with the development of the small, on-road sports PES1, as well as the PED1, which are being developed to expand the scope of electric vehicles to the off-road world.
