Yamaha Raider description

The bike is in like-new condition.  I am the original owner.  The bike has always been stored in a garage and has been meticulously cared for and maintained. The bike has never been tipped over or crashed into anything. I have all the original paperwork and maintenance history.  An issue with a used bike is tire condition, motorcycle tires are expensive.  I just had new Metzeler tires installed front and rear.

The bike includes the following "Yamaha factory" accessories made specifically for the Raider:  boulevard windscreen,  saddlebags, quick release passenger backrest, drag exhaust pipes, custom cover and a full service manual.

I didn't like the look of the stock exhaust.  Lots of folks install the short, curved very loud pipes.  I thought the straight pipes were stronger looking.  They still rumble but they won't make you deaf.  I rode the bike for a while with the stock exhaust and noticed a pronounced difference in performance with the drag pipes.  You can feel a "pipe" effect at a higher RPM and makes the bike exciting to ride.  I thought full windshields look kinda grandpaish so I went with the boulevard windscreen.  If you are going to ride at 70 mph for anything more than an hour the windscreen is nice as it takes the air pressure off your chest.  The saddlebags are sleek and have enough room to stash stuff for a overnighter or a day trip lunch.  If you haven't ridden a Raider before you would love it.  The cruiser style puts the seat low so it is easy to reach the ground at stops.  The grips are set high and comfortable.  The forks have some rake to them which makes the bike look mean but doesn't seem to deter from handling.  I have ridden a few other cruisers but not one as solid, tight and well built as a Raider.  I know this bike is not a HD, but it drips no oil, is half the price and with 1845 cc's will crush most cruisers out there.

Per Nadaguides and Kelly Bluebook a stock 2008 Raider S is worth in the high $8000's.  Given the bikes condition and $1600 of factory accessories, I believe that $8900 price is very reasonable

I am selling the bike in order to buy a boat.

Isle of Man TT 2014: Monster Supersport TT 1 Results

Mon, 02 Jun 2014

Gary Johnson narrowly beat out Bruce Anstey to take the first of two Supersport races at the 2014 Isle of Man TT. Riding the Daytona 675, Johnson’s win was the first for Triumph since 2003, ironically, with Anstey taking the victory that year in the Junior 600cc class. The race started three hours behind schedule due to fog, but once it began it quickly became a duel between Johnson and Anstey.
