Yamaha RD 400 description

Completely disassembled to the frame and rebuilt. There are less than 100 miles on the engine, so it is not completely broken in. Initial break-in procedures as recommended by Vintage Specialties and LA Sleeve were followed.

Rebuilding includes the following:
Crank was rebuilt by Vintage Specialties of Jenkinsburg GA
New top end with new Wiseco pistons and 65mm re-bore
Rebuilt and ultrasonically cleaned carbs. Jetted to 130 mains and 30 idles
Oil injection system ultrasonically cleaned. New gaskets, hoses and nozzles
Uni air filters in original air box
New front brake master cylinder
Rebuilt rear brake cylinder
Rebuilt front and rear brake calipers
New brake lines
New neck and wheel bearings
New fork seals and fork springs
New swing-arm bushings
New tires,and chain
Wheels have been newly powder-coated
Polished engine covers heads and fork legs
Has Martek solid state ignition. Timing is set to 2.3mm
New coils, ignition wires, plugs and plug caps
Replaced wire harness and components. All electronics work as they should.
Frame and components were repainted, no tabs were cut
Body parts were repainted Chappy Red

Bike starts and runs great thru all six gears. I cannot emphasize enough that the engine is not fully broken in and will need to be further broken in and possibly re-jetted. It is now at P30 and M130.  There is no warranty given or implied.

I previously had this bike listed in a cafe racer configuration and received quite a few questions regarding whether I had original parts to convert it back, so I did it. The cafe seat is available but the DG  exhaust and rear sets are being used on another project.

If you have less that a 5 positive feedback score I will cancel your bid unless you contact me via Ebay. I WILL NOT SELL OUTSIDE THE US.  Any questions call Bill at 201 401-6380

Mon, 22 Nov 2021

This news should come as a surprise to nobody, but it’s still equally as exciting to finally get the official confirmation: Yamaha is bringing an updated MT-10 to the US. Maybe more exciting is the announcement that Yamaha is also bringing an MT-10 SP here as well. We reported earlier this month that a new MT-10 was coming, but at the time, the report was only confirmed for Europe.
