Great for learning and/or playing, complete with 49cc of four-stroke fun feeding power through a 3 gear automatic-clutch transmission. Big YZ styling meets little people’s stature; the seat’s only 21.9ins from the dirt. Inverted fork and Monocross® rear end provide great handling. Engine: 49cc air-cooled, SINGLE OVERHEAD CAM powerplant puts out smooth, reliable four-stroke power perfect for kids and small novices. 3 gear gearbox with automatic centrifugal clutch makes learning to shift gears a breeze. Convenient electric start for effortless starting. Compact-design cases keep overall engine width down for a narrow feel and great handling. 11mm Mikuni® VM-type carburetor with automatic on/off electric heater ensures crisp, dependable throttle response. Automatic cam chain tensioner reduces maintenance. CDI ignition system delivers hot, reliable spark and requires minimal maintenance. Lightweight, upswept exhaust system is quiet and contains a USFS-approved spark arrestor. 50th Anniversary Yamaha Special Edition R1? Yes Please!

Fri, 09 Sep 2011

When Yamaha unveiled its 50th anniversary edition red and white livery for its M1 MotoGP machines in May, one question came immediately to mind: when can we get the special edition R1? The red and white design was created to celebrate Yamaha‘s 50th year in Grand Prix racing. Yamaha factory racers Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies debuted the livery at the Assen round in June, which saw the American Spies nab his first a career MotoGP win.

Colin Edwards Joins Forward Racing CRT Squad for 2012

Fri, 02 Sep 2011

Colin Edwards will join the Forward Racing team to compete in the 2012 MotoGP season as a Claiming Rule Team entry. Edwards, known as a good development rider and an even better quote machine, is the first rider to officially sign on with a CRT. Forward Racing may be more familiar to some race fans by its former name, Hayate Racing, the outfit that ran the Kawasaki ZX-RR with Marco Melandri in 2009 after Kawasaki pulled out of MotoGP racing.

Not the most sensible of commuters..

Wed, 04 Apr 2012

This is the white and gold 2012 Yamaha R1. It's also the bike I shall be commuting on for the next 8 months. The crouched riding position and murderous amounts of power may not be ideally suited for the London grind, but with plenty of track action planned I have to make some compromises. There are three fresh colours to choose from.
