Yamaha Other description

Do not miss your chance to own this legendary, collector's motorcycle. I don't see very many of these for sale and I don't see many 2 stroke street bikes available lately so here is your opportunity to make it happen now. This is what you can call a lot of bang for your buck! This Yamaha two-stroke twin is still running great and is a very fun ride indeed! It is the model made in between the air-cooled RD350/400 and the water-cooled RZ350 with power valves, made for 2yrs only (as far as I know) and was never officially imported to the USA. I believe this 1 was legally imported through Canada sometime in the eighties. 1982 RD350LCs do not have power valves, but is water cooled, simple, reliable and has tons of power for it's weight which makes it very fun combination for sport riding. It is in good original condition, however it is not restored and not a show bike! It has some scratches, scrapes and dings on the tank and the expansion chambers. A few quarter size dents in the tank with some dings and scratches. If somebody wants to repaint the tank and side covers, I have a new "mars bar" decal kit that comes with it. But it's a nice survivor, is complete, running well that has a little nostalgic character and could be a show bike with very little money or work. This bike is complete, starts, runs, stops like a champ! It starts right up, idles well, accelerates smooth with the powerful power band and has no flat spots. Also, the paperwork is all in order, current registration, clear CA title, ready to hit the road and feed your need for speed!I recently installed a new top end and had the cylinders and head machined with matched 1.5 over pro-x pistons, rings, wrist pins, needle bearings, retainers. Everything cleaned and checked out. Intake ported, banshee reeds installed with proper spacers, larger carburetors, tuned very well and runs well with nice, smooth power band. New gasket kit and seal kit installed so no leaks. Usually starts 1st or 2nd kick. The Oil injection in place and operational. Newer tires, newer brakes, new battery. Lamps work, signals work, horns work, speedometer works, tachometer works, temperature gauge works.Has a vintage Shoei Faring installed. Two, minor cracks on windshield down where it's bolted on, but not bad. Can be easily removed too. The rear and front fenders have been cut/modified (not by me). Otherwise pretty much stock and very complete example of a very rare, desirable, legendary motorcycle. Selling because I don't ride it anymore. NUMBERS MATCHING FRAME AND ENGINE, clear clear title and registration in my name. No disappointments! It is a very nice and thrilling motorcycle that is just going up in value every year because it is so rare in the USA and it has clear title in my name, insured, current California registration which is almost priceless these days. A "must have" for your collection. It is being sold "As Is, where is" so recommend checking it out in person and get permission from your significant other before you make an offer. Don't buy or even bid if you can't/won't follow through with your responsibilities and obligations. Photos are great, but must be seen in person to be fully appreciated. Be a responsible ebayer please, and we can give each other positive feedback. See my excellent feedback record. I have had 100% feedback since Ebay started.Transportation is the full responsibility and cost of the buyer if required. I can assist with shipping, but please don't ask me how much it costs as it is up to the mode of transport and company YOU THE BUYER choose to go with. Thanks for your interest and good luck! No disappointments so go for it! Thanks for looking and Happy Holidays.

NZ Superbike Series Points Leader Is A Grandfather Of Three!

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Dennis Charlett is stamping his authority on the New Zealand Superbike championship. The 45 year-old father of five and grandfather of three (no, those aren’t typos) won the first three races of the season during the series opener in Christchurch, placing him firmly at the top of the points standings heading into round two at Levels Raceway, near Timaru. The championship favorite certainly got the wake-up call as Taupo’s Suzuki rider Scott Moir raced to a convincing win in Saturday’s Superbike race, while Charlett was forced to settle for fourth place.

Rossi’s Ranch: Valentino’s Personal Playground

Tue, 23 Jul 2013

What does Valentino Rossi do when he’s not riding his Yamaha M1 around the best racetracks in the world? He relaxes at home in Tavullia, Italy, and rides motorcycles around his newly developed dirt track dubbed, “Rossi’s Ranch.” “It’s like a dream from when you’re a child,” says Rossi. “You hope at one moment you can buy your own racetrack.” It’s safe to say Rossi is financially stable enough at this moment in time to where he can make his childhood dream a reality.

Lorenzo Signs Two-Year Extension with Yamaha

Thu, 07 Aug 2014

Two-time MotoGP Champion Jorge Lorenzo has signed a contract extension with Yamaha to see him race on the company’s factory team through the 2016 season. The signing comes as no real surprise, following similar two-year contract extensions for teammate Valentino Rossi and Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa. Ducati also confirmed it would field Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone next season, so unless Lorenzo wanted to spend a season or two developing Suzuki‘s or Aprilia‘s new prototypes, Lorenzo’s only option for a factory ride was to re-sign with Yamaha.
