For sell is our recently built beaty - 1979 Yamaha XS 400 Cafe Racer. This bike is in superb condition and runs / sounds amazing! The bike is located in Redding, CA where it was built.- YZ426 exhaust mufflers that have been shortened and adjusted to fit this motorcycle. Great sound, they are quiet enough to not bother or wake the neighbors while warming up the engine, but when you hit 6,000 RPM they make music!- Custom fabricated electronics pan located directly under the seat to house all the electrical components (starter relay / rectifier / regulator / etc.)- Custom fabricated seat pan & tail section - built using eighteen gauge sheet metal- Updated ignition - Points breaker system has been removed and replaced with an electronic ignition from a 1980 model. This basically means that this bike now runs on the same type of electronic ignition that all modern bikes run on making this bike very reliable and low maintenance since you will NEVER have to set the timing again! This is a very nice upgrade.- Both electric & kick start- Honda gas tank modified to fit the Yamaha frame- 1,500 original miles (cannot be certain but all evidence points to this being the true mileage)- Base coat / Clear coat paint (automotive grade, fuel will not wrinkle or damage the clear coat)- Original brakes / wheels / suspension / engine / handlebar controls - Clubman handle barsThis bike is VERY nice and practically brand new in terms of mileage (and it shows). AMA Supercross: 2012 Daytona Results
Mon, 12 Mar 2012James Stewart gave his 2012 AMA Supercross championship hopes a much needed boost with a big win in sloppy, muddy conditions at Daytona International Speedway. Heavy rains made the Ricky Carmichael-designed track in Daytona’s tri-oval section even more difficult than the GOAT conceived, with the terrain rough, choppy and rutted. Series point leader Ryan Villopoto became an early casualty of the track conditions, sliding outon the second corner.
2013 Yamaha XT250 Receives Fuel Injection
Thu, 07 Jun 2012The Yamaha XT250 dual sport is getting a fuel injection system for the 2013 model year, replacing the previous model’s 33mm Teikei carburetor. Apart from fuel injection and new graphics, the only other changes are a new TCI ignition system in place of the 2012 model’s CDI ignition, and a slightly larger gas tank (2.6 gallons versus 2.4 gallons on last year’s model). The 249cc air-cooled SOHC engine and five-speed transmission remains unchanged.
2014 AMA Supercross – Indianapolis Results
Mon, 03 Mar 2014Ryan Dungey captured his first win of the 2014 AMA Supercross season in a wild main event that saw two of the top title contenders crashing on the starting straight at Indianapolis‘ Lucas Oil Stadium. Smartop MotoConcepts Suzuki rider Mike Alessi took the holeshot for the second race in a row, but the big news was incoming points leader Ryan Villopoto and Ken Roczen going down before the first turn. Roczen trailed Villopoto by nine points going into the Indianapolis round, but the KTM rookie’s hopes of overtaking the reigning champion took a blow when he went down on the straight, knocking Villopoto off in the process.
