    BUY YOURSELF AN XMAS PRESENT THAT YOU REALLY WANT! These are crazy hard to come by and I really don't want to sell it but I have been sitting on it for a few years and have too many things going on in my life to get to it. I ran it when I bought it but only for a short while....the tank was shot and it took me forever to find a NEW one with a slight blemish....so glad it was out there.  The old tank was a leaker and was damaged by someone trying to fix it and they didn't know they were doing.  From what I have learned there are only a about 1000 or so imported and they started at serial 100.  This is number 112 so a truly rare find.  They are very cool with a single cylinder 600 cc bike....loads of torque and great handling.

The mid fairing on both sides have been "modified" with aluminum to hold them tight(see pictures- no idea why you would do that to a rare bike), and the lower fairing piece on the left side is wrinkled, with the paint peeled off, from gas sitting in it for a long period of time.

    1979 Yamaha SR500r Incredible Original Condition Current California registration with original blue and yellow license plate.  3560 original miles.  The bike has always been stored indoors and is in impeccable condition.  As you can see from the photos, the bike is like new and is in no way tidied up for sale.  There is no rust, dents or other damage hidden.  All decals, paint and seat are in perfect condition. The bike starts on the first kick (once you get the hang of starting an SR) and runs like a top.  New tires,  new MotoBatt sealed battery and the rubber seal on the gas tank is the only work I have done after purchasing the bike from a friend last year.  A set of brake pads, full carb rebuild kit and other parts will be included in the sale.  A full set of related documents will come with the bike including original sale brochure, owners manual and a Clymer service manual plus a second original Yamaha key.  This may well be the very best original example of an SR500r out there and it is ready to placed in any showroom worldwide.  Hope you like it and good luck!!!

     Up for sale is my 1978 sr500 Yamaha.I purchased it new/used from the dealer in Kingsport Tn.It had 111miles on the clock!The owner didnt like kick starting brought it back for a refund!Over the years it has evolved into what you see now!The motor has less than 2 miles on it since the rebuild!I have the old rings and timing chain in the boxs and the card board the gaskets came on in the photo.Everything was purchased thru thumper stuff.Brake pads were replaced.High volume oil line to the exhaust.Supper Trapp Exhaust.Avon Super Venom's are several years old look good.K&N air and breather filter.You get a K&N spray recharge kit.3 new oil filters.New filter in it will need changing after break in.Rear set were custom made.Seen a set on e-bay for over $300!The fairing is a Ducati SS type from time machine fiber glass reproductions.End mount mirrors.Front sprocket is largest one available.The custom made seat is fiberglass cover over the stock pan.The cowel has some cracks in the gel coat. It comes with all the spare parts pictured.I have owned several sr's for parts.The spare frame is bent and one of the forks pictured. It has been in storage but it started up after a few trys's it will need a new battery.It will not hold its charge.I may have the stock handle bars.If I can find them they go with it.I am selling due to health reason.My bag man tank bag is also included.

    A very recent paint job and a complete overhaul/restoration befitting a bike that already logged 25 years in a toy store of a private collector.There is not a speck of dirt on this bike and to my knowledge the only aftermarket parts on this bike are the mirrors.There is a small tiny scrape on the tip of the fender.Evidence of use in a past life.The tachometer is in need of a rebuild but it still functions.Both gauges look great and it is evident that this bike has a few years spent indoors in the air conditioning.The seat appears to be original but i am not sure of this history.There is a small tear at the underside of the seat pan that can,t be seen without raising the seat.No big deal but i want full disclosure.The tool kit is not with this bike.New cables and new brakes were installed and the tires are new as well with less than a hundred miles on them.This bike is too fun to leave sitting.It did get ridden but never enough.The low miles on it is evidence of the limited use of this beautiful gem from our past.There is a small ding on the right side pipe.I will show the ding in the pictures.these pipes have a small spot here and there but you have to hunt to find a flaw on them.they are in great condition and have cleaned up very nice.No rust anywhere on this bike anywhere ever.The frame and engine numbers match for all of you investors and collectors out there.This bike is a very nice example of a rd from our childhoods.It is perfect in my opinion but you need to look for yourself.Ask questions.Everything works.We do not sell garbage!     I got a couple of old Yami's that I'm looking to get rid of.  They're 70's enduros.  The red one runs and rides.  Has new tires and tubes as of last year.  Also put on a new seat cover.  It stops like you would think a 40 year old bike with drum brakes does.... Poorly.  It runs good, kind of a cold blooded bastard.  But its a lot of fun, pretty dang peppy. My buddies and I thought it would be cool to do up a couple old bikes and ride them so that's what we did.  They soon realized that we're old and have kids and wives so it's hard to get out and ride them.  This bike has sat since last fall and I went out last week and gave it a couple kicks and it fired right up.  I took a couple laps around the property and put it back in the barn.  So yes it does run, shifts through all the gears.
